That could be a big part of it. Gun advertising is over the top. But it still is limited to specialist publications. Those didn’t come from Time.
Gun ads? Specialist publications? Hmmm...Aren't military recruiters infesting high schools though? They don't call them the armed services for nothing!

apples and oranges
If the intention of restricting ads for guns is to keep those ads out of the view of kids, it's not a reach to suggest that armed services recruiting high school kids goes against that restriction.

I'm not against gun ownership, but have a healthy suspicion of standing armies. I don't favor censoring or restricting gun ads by government, who ironically display their gun ads (military enlistment propaganda) lots of places.

I have nothing against apples or oranges.

Do you disagree that you are conservative? All I see you talk about are complaints about the changes that are going on around you and how you pine for the good old days. You'd be perfectly at home in Archie Bunker's home. Calling you conservative is an accurate description, not an insult. Same with calling what's his name fascist. He labeled himself through his words.

The only hate you see in this message is your own. It's why the very accurate label included toxic. So, go ahead and post another vid where you live through a fantasy about a hyper violent righteous man who gives the demented evil criminal one last chance before he offs him. I'm OK with it if by doing so you feel better about yourself. But the good guy with the gun is a myth. Fantasizing about killing people is also a sign of toxic masculinity. jsyk

By the way, this thread belongs in the politics section because toxic masculinity and the celebration of violence that is inherent to that syndrome is what fuels the rage and violence we see nowadays. Listen to what the mass shooter was saying before he went off. Or the Jan 6 insurrection. Or Trump in everything he said. The othering of others to justify harming them. It permeates their world. And it oozes from your posts. It's a sickness in today's society and explains the high rates of gun violence better than the prevalence of guns.
Many grew up in the south, where all men and most women have guns,Even the good ones.I understand you are searching for a way to process this insane violence being thrust upon society.Maybe look at the gangs that cause the majority of the shootings and the loose morals surrounding these actions on every level.I too hope you can see some progress of mood and find a way to be happier.Cheers

Musk is making Twitter friendly to your kind of people. You might want to look into it. They don't have nosy moderators like RIU has. You'd be free to express yourself there.
wow ... ouchies.

Im not nosy id rather not have to mod very dumb arguments all day long and petty drama between forum members, but people cant act like adults and just follow the rules so here we are.

Are you suggesting the information musk is releasing is fabricated by him?
I would be suggesting that Elon is trying to save a $44 B decision and assuage extremely nervous investors by playing the Q game, which is literally a game employing psychological principles. There must ALWAYS be something in doubt. The reward is acceptance into the social club. Timing is important.

He can't release them all at once because the ending is a fat dud. Private companies have a right to screen information and should for their own financial health and the health of the nation and nobody deserves to see Hunter Biden's genitalia or Trump's for that matter. It's smart and pragmatic. Fox News believes it was important not to cover the J6 hearing but we didn't get weeks of national coverage over that choice. This is another hypocritical molehill into mountain ordeal that will have the same results as the Durham investigation.

I'm amazed that in 6-pages of this thread, no one seems to know what the Twitter Files are, or have mentioned Matt Taibbi at all.

Matt Taibbi (former Rolling Stone editor) has been the main person posting these "Twitter Files", which are based on an internal dump of info which Elon Musk gave directly to him. In short, it shows that the Biden camp had direct connections and influence to and on Twitter content moderation employees, and actively had dissident voices silences and banned on Twitter. Whatever you think of politics or an infamous laptop, the fact that Biden's regime was actively involved in censorship of opposing voices on a third-party platform, should be concerning.
