Do you get PINK slime in ur humidifier?

I use distilled water & HEPA filters in room but i still got Pink film stuff building up on the ultrasonic element in the center of humidifier. I cleaned it perfectly 1 week ago & it's back. Not a lot but I can see it coming back.

Is there anything you can do to stop bacterial buildup in humidifiers & is it really anything to worry about?

Ok I think that's for evaporative humidifiers only, I have an ultrasonic but I will probably buy an evap. Thanks Pdub

I don't mess with them because they are bacteria and mold traps

I don't even like the ac. I take it apart 3 or 4 times a year and bleach it. I swear mold and mildew grows in ac units if unchecked

I took apart a 2 year old window unit and the squirrel cage fan was literally completely wrapped in a blackish mold. Same with most of the Styrofoam insulation.. Wore a n95 and bleached the shit out of it.
