sorry that didn’t read right. salmon/crab not in the delta :spew:lol…we go outside of gg bridge usually near the farallon islands for salmon and drop the crab pots on the way out.
Nice! If I lived where you do I would be mostly all about the sturgeon once again.C&R. I used to fish allot up a little from you. From the fleet on up. Had a 23’ trophy in a slip at Vierras in Isleton but would usually haul my 18’ Lund fisherman out from my pad in Stockton and launch in Pittsburg or Antioch as that’s where I used to do allot of my fishing.
I used to take the Trophy out in the bay and get the halibut and striper and shark didn’t trust it outside the gate lol. I used to go out on party boat trips all the time.
Myself and @doublejj and a few others on here have been on a couple rock fishing trips together. I like the crab/rockfish potlucks around turkeyday the best. We were gonna do it again in 2018 but right before the trip, i burned down in the Camp Fire up in Paradise. So I didn’t make it lol

Thanks man. Allot of people had it worse than I.
My 23’ trophy was big enough just didn’t trust it out the gate because of the age.
Not sure if you lived in california when the deeper waters were still open. I used to drive all the way to Bodega and fish out at the cordell banks. Those were the days. Big rockfish and even bigger lings than what we’re used to now.
usually when i go out to the farralons on party boats nowadays i just focus on the lings. The rockfish are small now.

Ya I have fished bodega - much easier with a smaller boat there! I lived in WA state for years. Lived in Everett and if you stay inside the sound you can go on a 18 foot boat cause it’s so protected. Used to get 5”shrimp on the backside of Hat Island…there is a shelf that drops to around 400’ and it’s loaded. But your arms can only do about 2 pots lol…or get a elect puller. Wish I could afford a boat but doing so much home improvement just not feasible now.

I got 2 different boats nowadays. Both took allot of damage from the fire and i had no boat insurance like a dummy. My pontoon boat, set up for trolling the lakes up here still looks like some one put out a cigarette every few inches. My jet sled took 15k worth of damage. The sled is fixed back up but have had no time to fish because i been rebuilding. Finally done with the house so this summer is on like donkey kong! Just in time for all this water

I have lived in Denver the past 10 years or so, might move to one of the smaller mountain towns at some point, but staying put for now. Started out in central Illinois, the non-chicago part of the state. Just wanted to see what else was out there, so left at 18 and didn't go back. Have had lots of fun and interesting experiences on the way moving around to various places, I liked Boston a bunch. Kind of weird as I can't think of anyone that I grew up with that left home and stayed gone, to each their own, but I think you miss out on some of what life has to offer by staying put in your comfort zone.
