YouTube to let Trump channel post new content
YouTube announced Friday that it was lifting restrictions on Former President Donald Trump that will allow him to post new content on his YouTube channel as he makes his bid for reelection to the White House in 2024.

The restrictions had been imposed in response to the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol, which took place after Trump repeatedly made false claims about voter fraud related to his loss in the presidential election.

“We carefully evaluated the continued risk of real-world violence, balancing that with the importance of preserving the opportunity for voters to hear equally from major national candidates in the run up to an election,” Leslie Miller, vice president of YouTube Public Policy, said in a statement.

“This channel will continue to be subject to our policies, just like any other channel on YouTube.”

Unlike other platforms, such as Twitter and Facebook, which removed Trump’s accounts after a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol citing concerns about incitement of violence, YouTube left the channel up but restricted it from uploading new content.

The lifted restriction follows actions that other platforms have taken to restore Trump’s accounts.

Twitter, under new owner Elon Musk, restored the former president’s account in November.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, restored his accounts in February.

Despite regaining access to Facebook and Twitter, Trump has yet to post from his since restored accounts.

let him run his mouth...the only people still listening to him are too fucking stupid to change, and he'll only drive more independents away from the republican party.

I'd like to see Donald running around lose with delayed trials going after meatball Ron in a death struggle for the nomination, which if he loses, he will call rigged and walk his supporters out of the GOP and into a new Astroturf party. It will die when he goes to prison, stranding his followers in the wilderness, but syphoning off enough votes in 24 to fuck Ron royally. If you are really lucky MTG will head up the house wing of Donald's new party and they will field candidates for the house and senate, not a full slate, but enough.

Have faith in Trump! He will destroy fox and rip the guts outta the republican party, Donald is the T-2000 terminator and he's loose in their house. With luck he will help give the democrats a hat trick in 24 and they can take the ball, run with it and remove the republican's advantages, including fox.

MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell analyzes the status of Manhattan D.A. I wonder how a judge will be able to keep him on topic. He revels in ambiguous statements heavily loaded with value judgments. That man might be initially detained for contempt of court, if he sufficiently irritates the judge.

If any of his lawyers allowed him to take the stand, they should be immediately disbarred.

Didn’t DOJ just subpoena dozens of Mar-a-Lago staff? That tells me there is ongoing forward motion. They absolutely positively have to get that one right from square 1. So I’m ok with them taking the time. The principal isn’t getting less guilty.

How will he react? He will put his hands over his head when instructed to while they will grab his phone and shake him down.

There won't be a riot in NY, but his trial in Georgia could be another matter! The DC cops are so pissed off at these assholes they would shoot the fuckers before a repeat of J6 on the courthouse steps.

Poor Donald, yesterday Jack subpoenaed his entire Mar a Lago staff and the grand jurors in GA have been talking. Now there is not just talk of indicting him in NY, they appear to be making law enforcement preparations for a knock on his door come Monday! The walls are closing in fast from all directions, all his lawyers have been subpoenaed before grand juries and many face disbarment and other penalties, his circle of trust is growing much smaller now and fewer people are taking risks for him, forcing him to take them himself. I expect him to freakout bigly this weekend, he has to realize the end of the road is near. When the trip is over, he will be America's biggest loser, from the Whitehouse to the big house, maybe Kevin will visit though, he will still own the republican party from inside his cell. Donald will be the King of the losers an appropriate title.
