These guys are 5 minutes down the road from me. Eat there every week or two. Recommend if you're in town.

Pretty rare for me to go down to Ed. Been a while since I ate beef due to my diverticulitis but have a GI doc working on it now and if it takes surgery to fix my guts then I'm going for it. Not just for donairs tho that would be a blessing to eat one again without a week of the runs.

Bison meat on the other hand seems to sit just fine and I have a great recipe for donair meat and another for the best sweet sauce so that needs to be tried soon. New butcher in the town down the road a way sells lots of local bison. Having spaghetti with bison meat sauce the minute I post this! :)

:peace:

I've only eaten Bison burgers before, but that would make for a really good Donair.

What do y'all think of JT's refusal to allow his Chief of staff testify at the Chinese election interference hearings? oh and he called his critics 'Flat Earthers' re my TRAITOR opinion lol, trying to make a fool out of his (terrorist) citizens, IMO. Don't fear the right they're aptly named. LOL
Welp, so much for that controversy.

I don't believe he called his critics "Flat Earthers", he simply likened those that refuse to believe in science with those that refuse to believe the earth is a sphere, and the danger that presents to society. He is 100% correct in stating that.

There was an excellent döner kebab place that we would eat at religiously every week, the owner was Turkish and was a master of his craft. It changed ownership and just wasn't the same - all this talk has me jonesing for that OG flavour.
A long long time ago in a suburb far far away, there was a joint with an Aussie name that made amazing glorious fish&chips at a solid price.

Over three years, the food went slowly relentlessly down. They packed it in before year four.

It seems to happen too often, certain places that become known for a specialty with people lined up to get it, but either fear or greed take over. They expand the menu or start cutting corners to save a dime, and that downhill momentum is almost impossible to stop.

All this thinking about savoury food and my late night snack is going to be an apple, doesn't that sound satisfying.

somehow, without the statuesque naked chick saying “here honey; have a bite” it sounds kinda boring.

My pet hate is to many choices and my other pet hate is a menu that never changers. 4 entree's with a special, 5 to 6 mains plus a special and 4 deserts. All seasonal and cooked fresh is easy on the stock list and cost, easy on the kitchen, wait staff and the diner doesn't have to many choices which means they can get to ordering and drinking.
Good old spag bog for me tonight and the bog is simmering on the stove as i type.

My local little Italian restaurant doesn't even have a set menu. Just whatever they get fresh, local and decide to cook. You book and then trust they can cook- which they bloody well can. It does force you out of your comfort zone a bit as well and makes you try new things.
From their website:

Evening Menu
OUR MENU.
Our refined menu changes monthly with weekly adjustments. If you have dietary requirements please contact us

Eg of what they do. Nice simple fresh food done well:
New menu
Featuring four bangers
Tuna cotoletta, wasabi custard, house pickles
Bolognese spring roll, jalapeño salsa verde
Limone arancini, umami Spanner crab
Tomato crudo, goats chèvre, pepperberry

Glad she is going to be testifying, after much ballyhoo. I guess us commoners won't be able to have access to those hearings due to the 'sensitive' nature of the subject matter, rightly so, as it is a national security issue. We did get some coverage of the balloon incidents, I guess when jets shoot things down people notice and want answers regardless.
Flat earthers and non believers in science a danger to society? That's a bit of a leap. "Science" of what? Just another broad political statement used to lump any dissenters as conspiracy theorists or extremists is more propagandized talk talk. Science is science and the testing of ideas to form understanding, theories that are put to the test are what it's all about. Never understood saying shit like that, should be put as the 'science when it comes to (whatever theory) ' should be a qualifier with that statement. Pursuit of the truth is never flawed, conclusions based on incomplete or sponsored research, is as much a 'threat' as denial.
The Flat earth society and beliefs is weird to me, and hard to distinguish whether they are serious, religious, or just joking like the trend of influencers. As far as I can tell there isn't a single mariner among them LOL.

You were called out for spreading a lie and yet I don’t see a lot of contrition from you in this post.

I'm not surprised, just pointing it out.

As I see changes in what information is available I will acknowledge inaccuracies or presumption but I don't apologize for my opinions unless someone wants me to. I also change my opinion when, someone puts up an argument which makes sense to my flawed pompous ego-inflated reasoning. I am the first to admit being wrong in most cases. Being loud and proud doesn't mean I'm close-minded. I rarely defend politicians actions and words, I just vote. I like verbal sparring as you do and this is a fairly unmoderated website. I have no power or influence beside my family and jobsite. It's just words. I'm glad people get riled up supporting their opinions whatever they may be. I try not to belittle, but offending is a whole 'nother thing...
