which part of the bud is it that actually gibes off that damp hay smell before its been dried and cured is it bud or is it the sugar leaves ?

ive chopped a couple bud prematurely before and trimmed and there is no hay smell only the actual bud traits, ive only noticed that damp hay smell when there has been segments of sugar leaf that was left not completely trim.

maybe im completley wrong as i know its something to do with chlorophyll but would the bud itself give off that damp hay smell or is it sparts of leaf/plant matter

The actual flower, but it also takes a few days before it starts giving off the smell.
