is it normal to keep growing white pistils when some are brown?

trying to learn how to thoroughly judge plant maturity. and wether the bud isnt ready and has more swelling to do.

Ive heard of foxtailing due to heat where it will continue to throw out new pistils.

im guessing it is normal to keep developing pistils but allways go by the trichomes.

is there a generalisation 60-80 brown 20 white

im guessing you can over mature a bud by focusing on pistils?

Yeah some strains will keep throwing white pistols until the end of time. Have any pix?

It's easier to harvest too soon than to harvest too late. If you have 20% white pistils you're a ways away from harvest regardless of what the trichomes look like. If you're going by that chart floating around you shouldn't. Without pictures nobody can really say where you're at but from the wording in your post I'd bet that you've been harvesting early.

I may be worth trying 10 hours light, 14 hours darkness for a few weeks at the end of bloom. I did that once with a strain that kept growing white pistils, and it seemed to finish it off somewhat better. However, one time of what I felt was success is not enough to say for sure it will help.

Yes, buds can have pistils die back as more continue to develop. But, it can also indicate a growing problem so it really depends.
