Is it normal for bid to lose smell after chop?

ive noticed this as a newb and not sure qether there is a problem in the grow or it is what it is like buds reducing to almost half there size once dried.

upon harvest while drying no curing has begun . bud seems to lose some of the citrus aroma unless you break the bud.

this is one issue i have found since starting is keeping a strong weed smell from the whole bud

or since it is drying it seals the smell in

When you are sure they’re ready to chop wait 2 more weeks. Your light needs to be strong enough to help form good firm buds. Genetics too. But harvesting too early is probably the number one cause of bud weight going to hell.

Might be an idea to let us know your drying process and what you use in the drying area, also how long it normally takes from fresh to dry. If they are shrinking an losing smell sounds like your drying them to fast and might have a fan directly on the buds or something. Let us know the process, and and any equipment you have on, were your drying, temperature and humidity if its messured and length of time and someone should be able to help more.
