Calmag & Plant Food/Nute

I'm Using RO water. I am also using a Yeah. OK, so. Plant supplement line. That gives 5%. Calcium and 2% Magnesium. I feed 1 day and plain water a few days later and feed again etc.

I use calmag ONLY when using plain water since RO supplies nothing. And on the days that I'm feeding the plant, I do not add any extra calcium or magnesium to the mix since it's already supplied in the nutes.

I contacted the manufacturer of CaliMagic and they told me that I should be using it at " every feeding".

Any opinions?

thats a lot, if your going to go by there info, i would use it at a rate of once a week, others may have other ideas

thats good practice, its a wast of nutes and unnessesary for the plants to grow properly, plus you avoid the issue of too much nutes in your soil. cal/mag is nessesary for photosynthesis to take place and works along with the other nutes , my personal opinion is as above, once a week, but wait for other opinions, allways good to get a second or therd opinion

Those nutrients are immediately available in soil I would not use them daily and frankly I'd watch my plants for orange punctate rust spots and only add it after I saw them. If you've added some Ca to your soil you may not even need it and Ca can cause lockout of other positive ions. So even in hydro like it was designed for I often wait to see the need before adding it.

Nota Bene: my tap water is 250 PPM and mostly Ca and Mg, ymmv

Of coarse the manufacturer wants you to use it everyday! It puts more money in their pockets !!!
