Should I Harvest?

Hello!

I started by only wanting to take off the big fan leaves. I got excited and took those and all the little fan leaves out of the buds and removed a good amount of bigger sugar leaves. Was wanting to let it go 1 more week but did I take off too much and just chop it down and start drying it?

Also when cutting sugar leaves how the hell do you get inside the bud and cut it at the stem? I FIMd a couple and a chunk of the bud came with the leaf...

I put a couple up close and a far away pic.

First timer here

Thank you!

Looking at the trichs, I'd say it'll get you high but the high won't last long. Get more beans poppin. You're gonna get better

Thanks everyone and I'm not offended at all... nothing rude.. it is what it is and that's why I am here... I planted it (grandaddy purp from ilgm) 4-6-2023.

Also, should I even dry and cure this plant or is it garbage?
It's not garbage...I'd smoke it!! Even though it smells good now, it might taste a little harsh, but it will get you high.

I know I have chopped early...We all probably have. Live and learn.

Congrats on making it to the finish line, and welcome to RIU :bigjoint:

Best advice I got for my first time was plant a few and do them a week or 2 apart. Makes harvest a pain BUT you learn on one plant and then on the second u don't mess up what u did of the first and the 3rd plant just don't mess up what u did with 1 and 2 and so on....

your pistils the white hairs look like they are dying out but they are too long that could mean you light burned them or nute burned them. normally they should be a lot shorter(the flower or the plant grows around them a lot more)

plants are not trash just the high will not be 30 min probably 10 but its gonna smoke. worst case scenario you smoke it it hits you like nothing you ever smoked but it goes away fast

How do you decide the height/power of the light? That is 100% something I can't figure out. I Have a Bloom Plus xp3000... I 100% light burned them and I know i am now but the problem is the light doesn't go any higher ,,,, and i hear if i turn it down it'll slow the production of bud since the intensity is lower? idk....

You need more equipments. It never ends.

The happy spot is somewhere between how high above the plant and what percentage to run the light at. If you are maxed out on height and are burning plants at 100%, dial it down a bit. If you are close to the plants and they are praying like crazy and not burning, turn it up a bit.

That is the basics of it. Diving down the rabbit hole of PPFD and using expensive equipment to measure and get actual numbers is the not so basic of it.

that's the balancing act when you have multiple plants at different grow schedules/heights and not an even canopy. Try raising the light as high as possible for the tallest, then using some boxes etc to raise the smaller plants up to appropriate ppfd range. Sometimes you have to bend over the tallest ones etc.
