I have to agree it's a young black bear, getting into trouble because mom kicked him out and he's hungry. A good sized bear did the same thing to me around the end of May. I'm just shocked nobody caught the date...4/20 lol. Poor little guy had munchies. The bear that got me destroyed the pop up tent frame I was using to hang the feeders from and 2 feeders. Totally my fault for forgetting to bring them in at dusk. Wild boar have ears like this.

They also taste a lot better than any bear I've ever eaten.
Sure looks like a bear's ears in the trailcam pic!
In my experience, old boars can have a pretty strong flavor. I like bear, but the problem is you have to cook it well done for it to be safe to eat, and I can't eat a couple hundred pounds of bear chili or "pulled bear." I will say that bear fat is incredible to cook with, use it like shortening/lard, it will make the flakiest biscuits and pie crusts you've ever had!

The fat is what gets me with bear meat. I have only tried it a few times and it's been greasy as hell. I'm sure there's ways to make it a little less so but I love some slow cooked pig that is fried up in a hot skillet with some BBQ sauce. I do honestly prefer farm raised pork but those guys get pissy when you start hunting their hog pens :bigjoint: . The little piggies are definitely tastier though for sure.

After harvesting you have to remove all the fat immediately, it goes rancid real fast. Then I render the fat and cold store just the fat in jars for later use.
Love wild pig, but anything over about 200-250 lbs starts to get strong, The smaller ones are excellent eaters!
edit: Wild pigs have the same issue as bear (same parasite too), it has to be well cooked to kill the trichinella.

'''and the spearmen rose and closed in. The lion looked quickly from side to side, saw where the line was thinnest, and charged at his topmost speed. The crowded moment began. With shields held steady, and quivering spears poised, the men in front braced themselves for the rush and the shock; and from either hand the warriors sprang forward to take their foe in the flank.
Bounding ahead of his fellows, the leader reached throwing distance; the long spear flickered and plunged; as the lion felt the wound he half turned, and then flung himself on the man in front. The warrior threw his spear; drove deep into the life, for entering at one shoulder it came out of the opposite flank, near the thigh, a yard of steel through the great body.
Rearing, the lion struck the man, bearing down the shield, his back arched; and for a moment he slaked his fury with fang and talon. But on the instant I saw another spear driven clear through his body from side to side; and as the lion turned again the bright spear blades darting toward him were flashes of white flame. The end had come. He seized another man, who stabbed him and wrenched loose.
As he fell he gripped a spear-head in his jaws with such tremendous force that he bent it double. Then the warriors were round and over him, stabbing and shouting, wild with furious exultation."

"The first swipe of the gigantic paw swept away Hasselborg’s belt and most of his clothing. He hugged his arms tighter around his head. The second swipe dug into his flesh as the bear tried to turn him over. He felt the bear’s breath on his back, and smelled the rotting salmon, and heard the growl as the jaws spread wide, and felt the teeth sink into his shoulder. Hasselborg dug his fingers deeper into the mud and prayed now, not for salvation, but only for unconsciousness. But when it came, he felt it. He felt all of it. He felt the bear’s teeth slide along the bone and the huge muzzle turned sideways to get a better purchase on the roundness of his shoulder. He heard the noise of his muscles being torn from the shoulder blade. ‘God — God —’ he cried in his agony through the mud in his mouth. It was over. This must be death….”

Some people are so fucking stupid. WTF do they think will happen? If Momma attacks a dumb ass spectator then she will be killed & the cubs most likely too.
They are wild animals - leave em alone!
