I had a huge one follow my lure, tried to climb in the canoe. I bonked it lightly on the shell with the paddle, it flipped out and really tried to get in the canoe. So I bonked it agin and took off, it chased me for 1/4 mile...like a freakin horror movie.
Don't fuck with me before coffee, you won't like me. You won't like me any better after coffee but your problem not mine.

Was it alligator snapper or regular snapper? They have both in VA
Pretty sure it was just a normal snapping turtle but I was a young teenager when it happened. I've snagged one with a lure before accidentally while fishing. I thought it had gotten snagged on a log at first and then I saw the line moving. Took about 10 minutes to get it close enough to grab and luckily the hook was caught in the shell right behind the head so it popped out easily. Damn thing did almost give me a heart attack hissing and snapping at me but I can't blame him. Probably saw my gut and thought he was dinner for sure.

Had a friend in Kansas that would shoot them in the head then clean them and make turtle soup, I didn't try it.
Around here they catch them and put them in a 55 gallon barrel with clean water for a few days. It lets them expel any waste they have in their digestive system and the meat is supposed to be much milder. I've never tried it as they can carry some nasty parasites and I don't need that kind of fun in my life.

Last night was the most amazing display of fireworks I've been through since I've lived here. Nothing like having them launch actual stadium fireworks from across the street. Although none took out roof tile or solar as they have in previous years, it is amazing to see them actually blow apart in front of your windows. Speaking of which I need to check on all my windows

My dogs are not fans. I'm hoping I get a couple nights off before they start up again but it was solid last night until around 4 AM when they petered out enough I dozed off. Although my ears are still ringing.

Pretty lights/flashes but goes on for way too long for my tastes any more. Also I wish people would pick up the left over trash and not just expect it to "disappear" overnight. My dogs/cat have come out of hiding, so we've survived another holiday!

Hope everyone else has some delicious coffee for the morning.....

Exodus Cheese in the Starry v3, okay but not thrilling.
I was so sad when my GreenHouse Exodus Cheese was too old to germ. Now I don't feel so bad. Especially since I grew some GH SSH along with my Mr. Nice SSH and the GH was mids and that is being kind.

The Mr. Nice SSH was so potent I had visual field disturbance and scintillation! Plus it was a wonderful high without the paranoia you often get with that type of weed. My tolerance is relatively high because of the dabs I do but just a bowlful of that and I was high as a kite.

I need to process those seeds. Merry Christmas
