With the higher output t-5s (75%?!), I would imagine everything around it would end up just like things left outside under the sun all day, but in your grow space/tent. Anything that isn't UV protected will deteriorate rapidly depending on the amount of use. It adds up quick overtime, even with minimal use. Even my lower output 15.0 reptile UVB t-5s I use over my aquarium/basking platforms wear out the plastic backround/poster material I have nearby it & need replacement every year. I don't go looking at it all the time, but its on most of the day in the laundry room for my turtle.
I feel the reptile t-5s are safer to experiment with on plants, with the lower output for longer periods, like a few hours as opposed to minutes with the ultra HO agro whatever bulbs.. I especially use my older worn out UVB bulbs from my aquarium, that still put out loads of UVs that are more suited for what plants utilize anyway. Bulbs are only good for maybe a year max before they don't put out as good, but I still get my moneys worth from each bulb!
IMO it's really not practical at all unless you go all out, and make everything exposed to the light UV resistant. I would hate for any equipment to get that sun tinged color, or my walls to start flaking away..
