I got my ffof from amazon with no gnats or discrepencies. I would buy again. Idk where it came from rather middle man or not or how they stored it but was good.

You gotta pay shipping one way or another so yeah to me its a bad idea. Look around your area for a wholesale greenhouse /landscape supply place. I get fox farm ocean forest for $14 a bag ,1.5 cu ft. The cheapest any retailer in my area has it for is about $23. Some places charge closer to $30.

I did two 12 quart bags for 32$, about the same I think. Prices fluctuate on everything these days but I don’t think that is bad price, I am sure there are better options but it is something to start off the grow. I might recollect the soil and use it for seedlings at the very least.

I generally use Happy Frog. You get 25% more per bag than Ocean Forest and it's a little cheaper, usually about $35 shipped from Esbenshade's through Amazon. Had gnats a time or 3, but it's my best option. My nearest nursery that even sells Foxfarm soils is 45 miles away and wants $40 a bag, and I know they store the shit outside.

Ouch that’s expensive. Nectar #4 is better than FFOF in my opinion. I used to specially order #4 to my local store.

Another one of my local hydro store will sell FFOF for $12. It’s just soil, people are taking advantage of cannabis growers.

honestly guys/gals, all hydro shops use the same exact supplier. They have access to all the same products. The only different if what they will sell it for. Most will gladly order you specifically what you want if you ask.

I mean if you are new to indoors and have a 2.3x2.3 tent wanting to get started I don’t see why not, should be enough for one grow. Like others said there are better options to look into while you get going in indoor grow. I have completed a whole grow with ffof before just fine.

Hows the tent coming along, you plant some seeds yet?

It's all still in the box cuz I still gotta clean the room out that I'm putting the tent in and put a door on it cuz the old door got punched thru in an old rage lmao but once I get that room cleaned I'm setting everything up..just need to order a dumpster to throw these old nightstands and dressers and a bed away ..really need to check all my grow stuff in case anything is damaged I can return it..

Nice, didn’t you get the mars ts1000? I am about to get two of those for a 2.5x5. Indoors is a lot of fun, would be nice to see a journal once you get started, I would follow it.

Y'all ain't got hydroponics stores in driving distance?? Bummer

I have a great local shop, great guys I try to keep my business there. But, yeah you can absolutely buy online soil. BuildASoil's entire model is based on shipping dirt and amendments.

Oh I recalled wrong or perhaps you were considering it, maybe not. The vipar you got is good, same watts and the ppfd on the map appears to be more uniform and the mars is hot centered and weaker edges but it said it can be used for a 2.5x2.5 tent and is affordable to so I am about to get it.

I try to spread out plants and leave open space around the plant for air flow so I think the vipar is spaced good for your tent, mine is just tad bit wider so a light made for 2.5x2.5 is preferred. Just the nature of uncommon sized grow tents, hard to find variety of name brand lights for them.

edit: Small tents overheat easily if to put a oversized light in there which harmed a plant of mine last time so another good reason for the vipar choice.
