Question on the tincture process. I believe I saw in Laddyd's post that I followed that he reduces the resulting liquid to 1/3 the original amount after filtering. I am thinking about pouring it all into a 9x13 Pyrex dish tomorrow night after the second rinse is complete for evaporation.

1. Think I can set that on a seedling mat to help move the process along a little faster?

2. Has anybody tried to fashion a little lid with aluminum foil that could collect the condensation and have it drip into another container to reclaim the alcohol?

Is this feasible or dumb and wishful thinking?
Evaporating using a heating pad in a well ventilated area worked for me, no open flame nearby. I do mine under my range hood with the range off. I miss lab hoods. Mine evaporated down in less than 24 hours without a heating pad, depends on temps, amount and RH how quickly it goes. The person who would know is @Singlemalt about the recovery.

This is the way to make actual tincture that is not a chlorophyll extraction. Singlemalt has been pretty busy trying to rebuild his moat after the flooding and we all know that takes precedence over socializing, MOATS MATTER! Especially since the alligators created such a mess downstream. I think this rebuild is using piranha locally sourced from the Amazon :bigjoint:
I do a qwiso wash, 91% iso, below freezing. Roughly 10 grams of ground material/100ml of Iso. Put dried material in a mason jar and into freezer as is the iso. After a few hours, dump your Iso into jar with the herb. Shake violently for 30-40 secs and then immediately filter. I filter into a new mason jar and store up batches until I'm ready to evaporate it. Dump the qwiso into a glass baking dish; cover it with a lintless paper towel and blow a fan across the top of dish. depending upon volume, it will evap and be tar-like in12-36 hrs. Scrape the tar off with razor blade and do what you wanted. For a tincture I'll put a known amount in a known amount of 80-95% EtOH. It will dissolve in a day or so. Then doseage test, which may or may not be fun. If ultimate intended use is as edible, then decarbox the herb prior to freezing. If not edible, I turn the stuff into hash.
Don't be tempted to rinse, or re-extract the herb or else it gets dirty, bad tasting, etc. You will have gotten 85% of the THC in that 30-40second extraction so don't be greedy.

One more question on the tincture. The point of evaporating is to make it stronger, correct? I guess that technically, it should make it burn less since it's the alcohol evaporates, right? If you take it down to 1/3 of what it is today, is the consistency still similar? My goal is to be able to use it with a dropper so I don't want it to get too thick. Also, if the strength is good now, is there a reason to evaporate it?

It does concentrate it, while also making less alcoholic and burny. You can evaporate it down quite a ways without the texture changing. It would be only a few grams by the time it was too sludgy to dropper.

And if you like it how it is go for it!

If you evaporate all the alcohol as singlemalt (the guy with the PhD in Biochem recommends) you can put it in whatever vehicle you'd like and it doesn't have to burn at all. For example you can add it to an oil so it's more comfortable or you can add it to an alcohol you prefer the taste of diluted to a strength of your preference. But once you've extracted the chlorophyll you won't be able to get rid of that.
