After Russia is defeated in Europe, they will have a lot more breathing room and without the Russian threat will grow more independent of American military support. I don't see the republicans doing very well in 24, they have a perfect storm brewing with Trump's trials, abortion, guns and social issues, even Ukraine is dividing them and not all are on board with stabbing the allies in the back. That could be another factor in Joe going with a slow war to completely destroy Russian military power, if the republicans did win in 24, Russia would already be destroyed and Putin dead.
