3 gallon pot, how much water?!?

Ain't none of you marijuana experts over-watering are you?

Heck I give my 6" pots a half pint once a week

My 5 quart pots get 1 quart

My 5 gallon buckets get 2 quarts to a gallon, this summer it's been taking about 6 days, in the winter might go over 2 weeks between watering

That is crazy low uptake. Do they even grow at that rate?
You would think those pots would dry out in less time than that without a plant in it.

Yeah those freshly repotted 5 gallon buckets only get two quarts, they came out of the little 5 quart buckets only getting 1 quart

You dont get near the evaporation in a bucket, I would assume, as you do in smart pots. If i waited 6 days to water my 5 gal smart pots, I'd be watering sticks.

Happy Frogs just dirt, it's got a little bit of stuff in there, but not much. Add more perlite, couple handfuls of EWC, and amend it maybe back off a tablespoon or something. Ocean forest on the other hand, I just add perlite and EWC. Then topdress after a couple/3 weeks.

I like saucers that are extra tall maybe 3 inches high. Water the plant till it has one inch or so in the saucer. leave that water 30 minutes or so. An hour is fine. remove water from saucer by pouring out or with battery operated siphon. As the plant gets to about week 3 or 4 flower I leave maybe a 1/4 inch water in the saucer that roots go get a drink becomes dry by day 3 ish. no problems super results. cheers

So I was using a 2.8L “3qt” pot and adding 1 gallon of water so how much water is used for a 3 gallon smart pot?!?
I use HP Promix soil in my 3 gallon pots, and depending on the root structure of my girls, I use anywhere from 3.5 to 4.5 gallons of water. I do depend on a moisture meter before I arbitrarily water.....so maybe my girls get towards the dryer side before I water.

And my pots are smart pots as well.

Making Promix soup? 80 to 90% of that would be runoff.
