Elons Little Plan

Remember when Edolf complained loudly that that kid was providing assassination coordinates!?
If he foiled a "Peral harbor attack" on Crimea that would have destroyed ships that are firing missiles from the black sea at Ukrainian civilians and because of it dozens of civilians could have been killed since then by those ships firing missiles from the black sea. Tens of thousands of tons of grain was destroyed and even now Russians are impeding grain exports to poor countries.

These are some of the possible consequences of foiling that drone boat attack and causing them to wash up on enemy shores. There might be plenty of motivation to do away with Elon and some in US intelligence circles might not really mind at all, they know things...

If, and if.
I’ll wait for the story to emerge. It is likely to be years before the forensic historians piece it all together.

For right now it does not look good for Elon, the US and Ukrainian governments know more, from my understanding the US government bought the connections and Elon gave nothing. My point is there could have been dire consequences for foiling that drone attack, Ukrainian civilians killed (it's all those ships fire at are cities) and helping to starve the poorest people on the planet by their continued existence.

I got your point. But it’s made of maybe.

War has unintended consequences as Vlad found out, and so does intervening on the side of a traditional foe and enemy of a close ally. I can't see American intelligence types being happy about this, what if it was Tiawan and Elon pulled the plug on them if China attacked? Or North Korea attacking the South? The Ukrainians should be livid, and I figure the head of their military intelligence Budanov is somebody you don't want to cross, he might not kill Elon, but he is frightfully smart and might arrange something bad for Elon in the future, especially if he becomes too much of a pain in the ass.

I agree with this. But regarding giving aid to foes, there is a more immediate target still walking free. That man gave Iran, Russia, North Korea and the enemies of Israel multiple freebies.

The old hands in the State Department must have been turning inside out. I hope some senior career players write memoirs of all the bs we have not yet heard about (or had the time to process while the fecal cyclone heads toward Category Two.)

Like rideshare. Lol Different billionaire.
Am I out of touch? While I don’t necessarily embrace Skum’s specific vision, the idea of having a spot to chill, cut the kids loose in a play area and maybe have some nachos while the family steed munches on some kWh strikes me as a winner.

Musk acknowledges he turned off Starlink internet access last year during Ukraine attack on Russia military
Elon Musk on Thursday acknowledged turning off internet access from his Starlink satellites during a Ukrainian raid last year on a Russian naval fleet, saying he did so to prevent SpaceX from being “complicit in a major act of war and conflict escalation.”
Musk responded on his social media platform X to new details from an upcoming book that indicated he ordered his engineers to shut off communications network before the attack off the Crimean coast.

“There was an emergency request from government authorities to activate Starlink all the way to Sevastopol,” Musk wrote on X, the platform previously known as Twitter.

“The obvious intent being to sink most of the Russian fleet at anchor. If I had agreed to their request, then SpaceX would be explicitly complicit in a major act of war and conflict escalation,” Musk wrote.
American author and journalist Walter Isaacson’s upcoming biography on Musk, titled “Elon Musk,” includes an excerpt published by CNN about the raid.

Ukrainian submarine drones loaded with explosives were approaching a Russian naval fleet in the Crimean city of Sevastopol when they lost connection and “washed ashore harmlessly,” according to Isaacson.

Musk was concerned about Russia responding to the naval attack with a nuclear weapon, Isaacson wrote in the book, according to CNN. Ukrainian officials begged him to turn the service back on, but he declined to do it for the Crimea incident.
Starlink has been an incredibly important service for Ukrainian troops in the war against Russia. Musk provided the service to Kyiv in early 2022 after Russia disrupted Ukraine’s communications systems.

Still, the billionaire has questioned his involvement in the war, according to Isaacson.
“How am I in this war?” Musk asked Isaacson, per CNN. “Starlink was not meant to be involved in wars. It was so people can watch Netflix and chill and get online for school and do good peaceful things, not drone strikes.”
Earlier this year, Musk also stressed on X that he reserved the right to turn off the service if needed but claimed he had never done so.

“SpaceX commercial terminals, like other commercial products, are meant for private use, not military, but we have not exercised our right to turn them off,” he wrote. “We’re trying hard to do the right thing, where the ‘right thing’ is an extremely difficult moral question.”
Musk was an early supporter of Ukraine who challenged Russian President Vladimir Putin to a duel shortly after the Russian invasion. He has since, however, floated peace plans to end the war that enraged Ukrainian supporters.
Musk last fall also said he could not keep funding Starlink in Ukraine and requested the Pentagon pick up the tab, but eventually relented. However, the Pentagon announced in June that it was paying for Starlink service in Ukraine.

Isaacson is the author of biographies on Steve Jobs, Benjamin Franklin and Albert Einstein. His new biography “Elon Musk” is set to be released on Sept. 12.

He doesn't mention how much arm-twisting Uncle Sam did to get him to provide starlink service to Ukraine to begin with and Uncle Sam paid for it from day one. I don't believe a word he says about it and he paid extra special attention to this for a reason and they are not the ones he stated. If there really is a "deep state" it will surely want to fuck Elon over this shit, he is supposed to be a US defense contractor FFS. If the CIA is gonna do business with this guy, they will need to buy blocks of encrypted access and tell Elon to mind his own business or end up in federal prison like Trump. He is not too big to fail or otherwise be disposed of.

Kasparov raises some good points, namely how did Musk know beforehand?

"If Musk could sabotage Ukrainian forces in the Black Sea during an attack, how did he know about it? How many other Ukrainian actions have been sabotaged, or their presence shared with Musk’s "Russian officials" friends? Were Ukr personnel cut off, possibly inside Russia? "

Musk would have the capacity to know where a receiver is by it communicating with the satellites. He could have a flag raised if one makes contact outside of where he deems acceptable.

perhaps a percentage of Starlink sats are actually surveillance platforms.

They have been using other similar systems too, cube sat and such, but they don't have the coverage of starlink or bandwidth. If the government buys blocks of special access and provides it to allies, is Elon gonna refuse? Provide information to the enemy about location? The content would be encrypted.

Maybe a new law allowing the US military to Geofence an area under conflict and they have full control of the network in those proscribed areas for military and national security purposes. If the democrats win in 24...
