Anyone tried to grow in one of these Amazon hydroponic herb gardens?

My girlfriend’s mom got me one of these. Grew all the basil I can eat so I decided to experiment a little and I threw in a mephisto autoflower in there. It outgrew the light real quick so I took the light off and put it in my tent.

anyone tried this successfully? Is this a waste of time or will this work we a reservoir?

I usually grow organic or in coco so this would be my first time going full hydro. Appreciate any advice or tips

Looks like it's working pretty well so far. I only have one hydro run under my belt, but I'd imagine a reservoir is a reservoir.

it's the best way to start seeds i've ever tried.
Kinda ashamed to admit it, but I still struggle sometimes with properly watering seedlings to get them to really take off. Don't know why it never occurred to me to give one of those things a look. Now I know one of the things I'm getting myself for Xmas.

yep, no soaking, no paper towels, etc. seed in rapid rooter. my litte aero unit sprays constantly on the RR's. by the time they get their first set or 2 of leaves, there are plenty of roots. right into coco.

The ones I'm seeing on Amazon look like there's a tiny plastic net-pot type deal around the sponges, which seem like they could fuck roots up when removing the sponge or Rapid Rooter. Have you found that to be an issue at all?

Oh yeah they’re incredible for starting seeds. I’ve had 100% germination with all types of seeds and they sprout and open up within just a couple days

think I’m dealing with some root rot. Did some research and see I need to decide between benes and a sterile environment. The bedroom this plant is in regularly at 75 to 80 degrees so I’m thinking I need to keep it sterile. Advice for doing so at this point?

yep, that's the stuff.

i would give her a big first dose: 5ppm

or 0.5 grams per 10 gallons water.

is that the recipe for the solution that I then drop into the reservoir or the full reservoir. I’ve got a 1g reservoir. Do I just mix in .05grams into it or do I need to make a solution first?

do you mix up any nutes in a bigger feed reservoir?

you are correct: you can just put 0.05 in 1 gallon. as long as your scale is accurate. and what i mean is there is a big difference b/t 0.05 and 0.08 (as in 5ppm is safe but 8 ppm could harm the plant)

No. Twice a week I mix up my nutes in a 1 gallon jug, check ph/ec, and then pour them directly into the reservoir. The reservoir is actually only 3 liters, so a a day or two later I’ll top it off with what’s left in the jug.

I bought a mufga..yes lol mufga 12 site system. Has a light that's actually pretty decent to keep clones alive and to kick off the veg cycle. I'm going to use mine as a cloner.
It's built solid and it's just like a makeshift Tupperware cloner I've made before but this is a little different. Each site is pressure fed water from the lid. (Lid has 12 spots where the water is sprayed rather than a slow fed drip system. Ill probably just use the pump for the first day or two to get the roots established and just toss a stone in there so they won't need to be topfed and it'll just be essentially a dwc tub thing. Lol. The point is that it's sturdy and trying to drill a 12 site plastic lid is impossible. Lol. Found mine on eBay for 18 bucks. Comes with net pots peat plugs. Hydro solution etc. Pics In a sec.
