Anybody have experience with a Dragon Tree?

My GF gave me her dragon tree, which has had some root rot, droopy leaves, and leaf burn. It's repotted now with better drainage, and the new growth doesn't have burnt tips. I put it in the tent on an 18/6 light cycle. She said she waters it once per month, but it was just getting ambient light before. In the tent, how frequently should it be watered?

Dragon tree as in Dracaena Marginata? They're pretty easy to care for, just don't let the soil stay too wet, let it dry out a bit between watering.

The lights in your tent might be a bit excessive, it should do fine in a window that faces south, east, or west.

Hi, thanks! Yeah that's the species. We will be putting it back in an office area, just wondered if maybe it will benefit from a few days in the grow tent.

Eh, I wouldn't say it's necessary. If it's recovering it might be better off in a lower-light environment anyway.

I keep mine in my office too, it's been doing okay in a west facing window. I water it about once a week, but the pot it's in doesn't have drainage holes. Yours may vary.

We put it in a pot with drainage, and I had her add some hydroton to help. Friend of mine said to water it from the bottom and that should help. In the tent it's pretty dry - I keep it around 55% RH @ 75F. The office gets below 70F. I'll tell her to keep it near a window. There's a couple places there she could put it - mostly south and east facing windows, though.

You can water it from the bottom if you want. In my experience, houseplants need way less light and fertilizer than weed. Temp-wise, I'd say if it's comfortable for you, it's probably fine for the plant.
