House Republicans nominated Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) for Speaker on Friday, the conference's second attempt to find a candidate who can win the gavel on the House floor, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) confirmed on X, formerly known as Twitter.
He will need 217 votes on the floor to become Speaker.

Seems like a good place to start negotiations.
Regardless, I don't anticipate the level of trust needed to make that work. I wouldn't give my vote to a Republican right now, especially after McCarthy. And Jeffries won't be able to lead without good faith from the moderates needed to elect him. But perhaps Jeffries (or maybe a moderate Republican Speaker) could at least get aid to Israel and Ukraine.
But funding the government? We're fucked.
So, no conditions.
