Gorilla Glue #4

I prefer to think of it as bar lights have significantly less of a central hot spot and thus a more even distribution of ppfd so the opposite analysis to yours! But I'm in a 4x4 so there's that.
Something worth looking into is cocoforcannabis' test of 2 x 300w light bars side by side, in array. The coverage is superior to any 6 bar light.

I’ve been thinking of switching to HPS. LED is yielding great quality but nothing like people used to get from HPS. I know genetics etc. but seems ever since LED became commonplace the quality has gone down. Anyone else notice this? There’s no real dank nostril flaring stuff anymore, even when it’s an old classic.

Not me, I grew with hps for years. The heat is unbearable. I will sacrifice a few grams for the loss of heat.

After using LEDs for a bit I went back to HPS for flowering. LED is fine for veg and clone.

LED seems to encourage PM and results in lower quality final product.

I'm glad to read others noticing the same.

The science definitely supports the opposite. Terpenes and cannabinoids are higher with LED over HPS.

All I know is back in the day when everyone used HPS it seems there was a lot of dank stinky weed and now, everything pales in comparison. Genetics have a big role to play too but even just decent weed up until the mid 2000s would still reek and have like a tinge to the nose, stink up a room when you walked in. My LED grows give me better quality than I can get in a dispensary but I still think they would be twice as good under LED.

Maybe it’s more terpenes total, but maybe HPS gives more of the dank stinky terpenes and less of the sweet, floral etc. I would like to run HPS and compare sometime.

I think bag appeal plays a bigger role today. Everyone wants cookies and cakes. I prefer sour D, Chem 91 and og Kush. Miss when Ak47 had a serious bite also.

For real. I miss the fire. Today’s world of cannabis is more commercialized and meant to appeal to the mass general public. Not much in line with connoisseur qualities in the main stream. Hard to find the genetics anymore.

I heard 'Gas Face' is the fire!

Never had it… but good genetics, seems to be a fruity one though, not very gassy. I love a good fruity bud but it’s harder to find a truly gassy or skunky or cat pissy strain.
I know some diehards that rave about it. Kinda spendy 500$ for a pack..

What $500 for a seed pack??? Hahahahaha!! How retarded. Only an asshole would try to sell seeds at $50 a pop. Maybe a clone of something real special but not any seed no way in hell.

Lol for $500 it better be some prehistoric, extinct, Pangaea seeds or something.
Dude 500$ is cheap to compared to what breeders pay on auctions... I agree the price is ridiculous, but it's big business to have the right strains and a small initial investment if you want to

500 isn't that much if you can get a phenotype to last you with years of profit ... Most 'premium" seeds these days have a higher price tag... https://northatlanticseed.com/

Seeds are just too easy and cheap to make. Even the GG4 cut I only paid $25 and it was already a few weeks rooted and vegged. But I digress, to each their own.

Looking tasty!
I sure hope so! Smelling very nice right now. All the branches are being held up by garden twine right now lol
