do they traditionally put you under for a root canal? I have an unnumbable mouth (at least with novacaine) so I always get fully knocked out for big tooth issues...

Naw, they just numb me up. But I’m not even sure they’re gonna be able to fix the tooth. And if she tries to send me to an endodontist my insurance won’t cover that.

It all depends on the dentist. Some do some don't, mine didn't.

I got knocked out, and my surgeon guy was a real chatty fella. I have distinct memories of both going down and coming back up with him talking about his grill technique... He assured me I wouldn't remember a thing from the pre surgery chat. But the man must have yakked about his sausages for an hour...
