Those are more like being in cults than being a regular sports fan, always fun.I am going with the grandson and his Dad to see an OHL game tonight - the Oshawa Generals against the Soo Greyhounds. Junior A games can be way more fun than the pros.
I was a crew chief for the Apache Longbow. I was in the process of getting accepted into flight school when I busted my back up in a training exercise. I was hoping to fly Blackhawk helicopters but I got medically retired in 2002. I was First Cavalry Division and I bet your dad was as well if he flew Hueys. Most choppers, but not all, were 1st Cav units in Vietnam. My Uncle served 4 years with Special Forces in Vietnam during the war. Thank your Dad for his service from me if you would.
That's awesome. I didn't have a college degree when I enlisted so I had to work my way up to Corporal and then apply to Flight School at Ft Rucker. I was also in D troop but 1/227th Aviation Battalion. I bet he and I have the same Stetson hat that reeks of liquor from the Cavalry Calls we all went to and drank heavily during. It's the hat the Colonel is wearing in Apocalypse Now. That movie was what got me interested in choppers and wanting to be a pilot.View attachment 5357664

He was a member of D Troop. Signed up with the Army in 1968 after a couple of years at community college, went to Texas to learn how to fly, and then he was off to Vietnam in 1969 living his dream of flying a helicopter. here's the brochure that lured him in LOL
Bench vise, tape, solvent. You might mess up the first one but it's easy.Is it hard to grip your own?
That definitely crossed my mind a few times lol. Our MOS required fairly high standard test scores but it didn't keep all the idiots out. I learned the true intelligence of my coworkers when I came back from lunch one day and one of my troops had left me the following note " I'm going to be late coming back from lunch, I have to take my pance to the dry cleaners. " It wasn't a typo, he spelled pants that way because that's how it sounded. Hooked on Phonics dropped the ball with a few I worked with.I never wanted to be a pilot, I knew who worked on the aircraft.
What, are we going to have a buying frenzy? I'm ready! Now look what you started, lol doesn't take long to do here
