Just spent months tending to my first 4 plants . All garbage . Not a single freakin bud that looks good , smells good , related anything even similar to a dispensary bud . So much time and reading for all this just for junk . What a waste of my time. And the worst part I don't even know what I did wrong . I did it all by the text book . Maybe my light is too garbage to produce anything good.. tsw 2000 . Not a single nice bud that if I owned a dispensary i would put on the shelf . Pure loose leaf garbage smelling trash
.I give up. Here are some of the nicer buds in the bag . Top colas . Skittlez auto I'm literally fed up enough throw the entire garbage bag out and give up. It's all loose , smells like fucking hay . Just trash waste of my time ..almost the plants.. rntz made some nice buds but overall small . All flat, not dense , odorless
What type of soil did you use? Did you add Earthworm Castings or other compost to the soil? Did you add organic dertilizers like Crustacean Meal, Kelp Meal, Neem Seed Meal etc.? How many watts is your LED light and what is the brand name?
Did you use an exhaust fan and passive air intake from the vents at the bottom of the tent?
Also genetics play a role. Who did you buy the seeds from and what strain? Certain breeders sell better seeds that produce fire.
I have grown over 25 plants in the past 3 yrs. I have been doing different breeders each grow as well. I have even grown a few experimental plants from seeds i got while trimming and drying that were either from a plant going hermy or from self pollination feminized seeds.
Only 1 of the plants produced sub par potency and that was a Bruce Banner from Greybeard Seeds. My friend said it was more like CBD and not THC. He likes the energy type highs and I let that plant mature a lot longer then I should have. So it was most likely my fault not the breeders quality.
Expert Seeds, Seedsman, TH Seeds, Sweet Seeds, ILGM, Brothers Grimm have produced me very fire plants that my friend said was better than the dispensaries he got from.
I do organic homemade soil. I bought Canadian Peat Moss, Coco Coir, Perlite, and used either Earthworm Poop or Rabbit Manure for compost.
They love rabbit manure and you can buy that on Etsy or Ebay. You can usually get a decent price on there.
I usually use this formula.
PER CUBIC FOOT (7.5 gallons)
25% Peat Moss
25% Coco Coir
30% Perlite
20% Compost (Usually 10% Earthworm Poop and 10% Rabbit Manure)
I add to this:
PER CUBIC FOOT (7.5 gallons)
1 cup Dolomite Lime
1 cup Gypsum (get the one in the garden center its sold for use for tomatoes and roses.)
2 cups of either Basalt Rock Dust or Azomite
3 cups of organic fertilizer
PER CUBIC FOOT (7.5 gallons)
1/2c Crustacean Meal (Crab or Shrimp Meal or combination of the two)
1/2c Neem Seed Meal
1 cup Kelp Meal
1 cup Dr, Earth Tomato and Herb fertilizer (you can use Epsom or another brand that similar NPK)
I have used Bat Guano and other types of Organic fertilizer and they work well but you have to let the soil sit and cook for like a month before transplating your seedlings into it. You can also use Fox Farm Ocean Forest but I usually get fungus gnats and have to use yellow sticky sheets in my tent and in the pots to control them. But there are other brands that people use. Try to avoid Miracle Grow or others that have long term release Nitrogen in it. The backs of the bags will tell you what they put in it.
This recipe all you need to do is use plain water and PH your water to 6.2 to 6,8 try to get close to 6.5.
Then when you flip your light schedule if your doing Photoperiods you can give them a Bloom boost feed around week 2 after light schedule change. You can use Dr. Earth Bud and Bloom ferts or Alaskan Fish Morbloom for the PK boost. Around 700 to 1000 ppm feed should be good.
Ive been using fabric pots either 5 gallon or 7 gallon. Autos I use 3 or 5 gallon depending on flower length by breeder specs.
I use a 400W Mars Hydro TS3000. Recently I bought a P2000 from Viparspectra for my 2X4 closet tent and noticed that the light makes the flowers turn fall colors real nice cause the parts not hitting the lights were more green. So different LED lights can do different things. Something else I am just recently learning. I got that light on sale in November for $90 on Amazon.
I keep my temps around 75 to 80F during Veg and flower when lights are on and 68 to 75F when lights are off.
In vegetative stage I keep my humidity around 60 to 65%. Then a few weeks after flipping lights and buds start to look like little snowballs I drop humidity to 50-55% then when buds are bigger it goes down to 45-50% till harvest.
Never had bud rot or powdery mildew.
My first grow I grew seeds from ILGM and the Super Skunk was very potent and trippy like. The White Widow autos which 1 I nuked still gave a 50/50 head body high.
Here are some pics of my flowers right before harvest.
