Thinking of switching to a Hydrobucket

It looks like it would make things easier to manage with water changes, having that access port on the lid. Can I really get away with shop vac nutrient water removal when the roots system is larger, or would it possibly hurt the roots and a full bucket dump is the better option? Sorry if this question sounds stupid.... ;)Hydrobucket-w.-lid2.jpg

They work pretty good, when I use them I do a full res change once a week

Do you dump it or remove the liquid with a vac? I'm just thinking about when they're in flower and above the net. I guess I could always attach the net to the bucket lid since there are the holes around it......just wondering.

So I use Gro Buddy and it has a 1/4 inch drain hose so I just turn the 1/4 inch valve and let drain then refill.
 
My buddy started using these for his DWC buckets. This is also what ill be using when I get back into hydro. Extremely easy for root zone access and res changes. Entire top is removable too. That way you can do full out swaps so you wont need to shop vac it out. $20 from Lowes.

I like the idea of these things but the only solution for cleaning your air lines, sides and bottom, as well as stones is to remove the plant entirely. How would these work around that?

The entire lid and flip portion is removable. So you can take entire top or just flip lid.

It's still not a bad price for either. The hydro bucket seems to have a few more options like the ability to attach PVC pipes to serve as support stakes which is a nice touch.

But you are also getting a larger reservoir with the CC brand. And it just looks legit AF.

I just purchased the vivosun 4 bucket system for $105 shipped. I immediately regretted it after seeing these buckets and how easy it is to access inside. But then I realized my buckets have the gauge tube on the side that I can turn down to let out some water to test. And I can always just refill or add more solution through the clay pebbles. So I'm guessing I never really have to lift up the plant/ net pot as much as I thought.

Draining my vivo bucket takes 18 minutes LOL. I'm going to use two for plants and keep the other two so I can hot swap to make things easier.
