This is indeed a very good day for Oregon. The past three years in a row the legislature has been unable to get anything meaningful done due to Republican obstruction. It's not like there is anywhere near equal share of power in Salem, Oregon. So the last gasp of Republican representation in the State Senate simply boycott and defeat the will of the people through process rather than compete for votes at the ballot box and win their case with the public. There is a large amount of work that can finally be done now that their obstruction has been removed.

This seems to be a nationwide trend. I hope enough voters figure it out and provide the correct consequences for this antigovernance.

Perhaps they overstated that somewhat. We are just a flyover state as far as nationwide politics go. We are a state of just 4 million people and a tiny blip on the economy. To call it an atomic bomb hitting the Republican Party is making a 4th of July firecracker into a mushroom cloud. To the Oregon Republican Party, this is a disaster. But they are just a mouse compared to the rat that is the national party.

OTOH, if this becomes a thing in other states, it might end their use of this one tactic that they use to defeat democracy. If so, good for little old Oregon.

Did they violate the State constitution? It ends there and not in the SCOTUS?

It might not mean much to the SCOTUS but it gets republicans used to the idea they can be kicked out of politics for (let's call it what it is) fascism and insurrection, which is a good thing and a lesson that will go far with political grifters.

In 2022 the voters of Oregon, including me and my wife, overwhelmingly voted to pass an initiative, Measure 113. Per Ballotopedia:

Measure 113 amended the Oregon Constitution to disqualify state legislators from re-election following the end of their term if they are absent from 10 legislative floor sessions without permission or excuse. The 10 absences would be deemed disorderly behavior. This applied to both legislative attendance during regular and special legislative sessions.

At the time of the election, the state constitution authorized legislative chambers to punish disorderly conduct, including legislative absenteeism, with a two-thirds supermajority vote. Punishment could include the expulsion of a member.

So, there it is. Measure 113 amends the Oregon Constitution to include both a disqualification from running for office the next election and to expel them if a supermajority voted for expulsion. At this time, there is no talk of expelling them but the hammer is in the hands of Legislative leadership.

So, SCOTUS does not have jurisdiction. That doesn't mean they won't try to weasel their way into an appellate court. By now, we should know that they aren't going to stop until they exhaust all means available. In May, there will be only two Republican incumbent lawmakers in the Senate who are not disqualified and more than likely a host of people competing for the 10 Senate seats that were made open in this action. I don't know if the Republican Party will stick to its guns and try to defend the incumbent's rights all the way to the SCOTUS on the small chance that they could win an appeal in a federal court or not. If they do, what becomes of the primary in May?

This was the guy who was gonna take over from Pence and the plan was to count those fake electors if they could, make smoke and spew bullshit while attempting a coup using fake elector certificates while the mob ransacked the capital and were breaking in the doors of the house. After it all ended, they still voted to support the crime. Chuck was a key player in the plan, but Pence showed up after refusing to play ball and did the right thing instead.

Chuck is deeply concerned about the unborn, but once they are born, he would starve them to death, a greedy old man, HTF do you get that far in life without picking up some clues. He is just a better-behaved version of Trump really, another guy who never learned shit.
