Killed three ugly plants in flower the past two grows. And god knows how many clones. I always take more than I need
I have an easier time killing a plant in flower than I do a cute little seedling. I decided that second schromba s1 wasn't flowering properly and destroyed it without a thought, but the stupid seed I found in my desk I kept...
So basically the extras get to live until I stop thinking they're cute...

I have 2 aerocloners from the old days. The smallest Botanicare unit can run 25 cuttings at a time, the Turbokloner is much bigger. I need neither these days but I can't give them up!
I have a huge stack of ballasts/hoods/Can filters/cloners/Under Current parts/buckets etc. as well. When we bought this place in 2013 I still had a game going on and there's still some lights set up in a shed as well. Doing something about all of that stuff is on the list for Summer projects.

Looks like 2024 is the year of the grow upgrade for many of us. I just put the new pan in my 5x5 and am trying to decide on a new light for the 4x4

Anyone else have a hard time killing extra clones? I admit to feeding them in the tray @curious2garden style, LMAO. Good morning. View attachment 5379616

Nah. I'm all about social Darwinism of plant life. 24 in the cloning tank, only 4 ever come out. The ones that hold their green the most, drop the furriest - longest - fastest roots, the top 4 in those clone-idol categories survive. The others, no mercy, burn baby burn, there ain't no such thing as a free nutrient feeding. The 4 princesses go into soil watching their siblings die a slow painful dehydration in a paper bag.

The 4 princesses don't get life easy either. Main-lining, bending and tie down for height management, all in the first month of going in soil. Then in flower they're spoiled rotten, given the best nutes, and kept mmmmmOIST until they've got the most firm, supple, juicy, uh nugs.

Then OFF with their head, mercielessly and viciously.

Yeah I'm a sadist with my plants, that's why I continue to call them the Spartan Princesses, if they survive they're sexy and rich, but if they don't, they don't, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. ;)

My next door neighbour called in an arborist to trim back the maple in her yard. Hallelujah! That thing kills a shit ton of sunlight in my backyard and therefore, my outdoor plants. Dude is above my garage strategically marking the cuts.
Happy Thursday indeed 8-)

Definitely appreciate the value in that shade deal. We love our trees, but I'm not loving a few for the same reasons as you.

I'd worry about the power lines as well. That's a damn tall tree...or was.
They are only taking off about 8-10' he says of dead branches, stuff dangling over my garage and cleaning up the lower canopy near power lines. Nothing off the top. That tree is approx. 65-70' tall so its a real presence back there. I love trees and living in the city, I value them tremendously. Selfishly though, it was a real pain the last few years jockeying 10G pots around the yard chasing pockets of sunlight.
