Who has best blueberry strain? Not DJ Short's version.

Got some good smelling DJ Short's blueberry at a dispensary once....but when lit it up, it tasted like gunpowder! -not even kidding.

And then recently, I was told that the DJ Short's blueberry might have contained some ruderalis genetics. I figure that's probably why it tasted like shit.

I've given up on looking for the real skunk (R.I.P.), so I'm focusing on trying to find a PHOTOPERIOD blueberry the both smells AND tastes, like real blueberry.

Suggestions, please

Nothing is gonna come close to the pre99 so let's get that out of the way first....

DJ has what he calls Blueberry F5 but it's indeed a recreation of Blueberry; as he lost the original during a raid.....every once in a while someone's got the F4 that ends up tasting really good just not pre99 good.....but that's the closest you'll find from DJ.

I would look towards others who have crossed it out and taken it their own ways....I'm growing Dutch Pasions which is from DJs original stock but I haven't heard good things; most recently heard terrible things.....so we will see I just popped her.....

Matt Riot as previously noted has blue bonnet; which I've only smoked a cross of (punchy blewster) and it definitely brought more Blueberry terps than djs did these days. I'm currently growing his riotberry v4 (Mother Of All Berries x Blue bonnet)

Outside of that I'd look into Dynasty....he's got several options.....and works with the goosebay Blueberry quite often which is different than DJs.

But he's also used djs too.

Jordan of the islands and AKBB have good blueberry. Akbb reportedly has a more sativa blueberry, not sure about JOTI, but in my research, that name comes up alot.

If you want DJ short gear, go through blue star. He works with DJ short gear, but he actually gives a fuck, and the end results are pretty neat looking.

I grew 3 or 4 of his blue strains when I started growing in around 2015/2016 and the terps were identical in all the crosses. I’m pretty sure he sold the company though and don’t know if the genetics are the same anymore. I’ve read enough bad reviews about his gear lately that I’d be careful.

From what I have read elsewhere (big grain of salt) he didn't sell the company, he just handed the reigns over to his son.

I've seen more good than bad, but I haven't been looking that hard either.

That’s good to hear because I enjoyed everything I grew from him. His blueberry lines would be worth a shot if someone’s on the hunt

Your american or canadian if i remember right op? Reason i ask is theres a killer cut of the old blueberry from Canada called the kootenay blueberry maybe worth seeing if you can get a cut or a cross of that from somewhere i remember talking to the guy who most likely brought it down to there long ago on here years back anyway hope it helps man

Looks awesome; from what I've seen and heard (haven't grown) the F5 is definitely a looker and definitely can be potent but from what I've heard the terps lean towards chocolate? I smoked DJs blueberry from a dispensary a few years ago and it was ridiculously potent....knockout indica....it smelt like blueberry jam but the taste wasn't there

It's baffling there aren't more old blueberry cuts in circulation. Back when DJ short's blueberry was all the hype, I imagine loads and loads of people were growing out his blueberry and finding nice specimens. So, wth happened? Where are they all at?

Op, the taste you had from that dispensary bud was sulphur. They probably had a powdery mildew problem with the grow and they burn sulphur containing material to kill the pm. I've tasted it in mid to low grade dabs and some flower. I don't buy from dispensaries anymore.

This is my Blueberry cut that I found in some beans I got from Marc Emery many years ago. Has that really syrupy blueberry smell that stays all the way through to the smoke, really nice night time meds and packs on the frost too!

I smoked DJs blueberry from a dispensary a few years ago and it was ridiculously potent....knockout indica....it smelt like blueberry jam but the taste wasn't there

I get the berry smell opening a jar- the smoke is potent as is the bubble hash I made from the last run of trimmings- I have over 40 years experience using cannabis- if it’s not decently potent- it won’t work for me- this one has become my favorite strain and each run is getting better as I dial in the environment and the plants needs.

Fletch/Archive still holds the old Oregon BB clone. He releases cuts on his dispensary menu about once a year.
It predates the Dj & UK Blues ...
but its just a big old skunk#1 type with a lot of BB sweetness. Not real frosty nor dense. It yields well tho.

My guess is ditched or lost for whatever reason be it screw ups or whatever or busts or held damn tight also same as alot of the older stuff if its good and around lots so many people assume that everyone will keep it around and they can just get it back whenever till they can't so they dont keep it or if its about the money they ditch it for a better yield or for some new hype its a sad story and all to common with many lines hopefully that changes oneday
