I have a really simple question ... and apologies for this ... but how do you "like" a post on this forum? I'm sure there is some obvious thing I should be doing. Can you help?

some places, you get ~50 posts or so before they decide to let you in - or not but a lot of really good sites work the same as RIU

This is a great site & there’s *lots* to read and reread (in the middle of re-reading the Frenchy & Nugbucket’s manifolding threads, myself). Reading a bunch of it will improve your comments & your reception, I expect

Actually, and with respect, the basic Faqs do not address the fact that you have to be on the site a while to get the permission to "like". So it was not clear to me. Here's what it says:
Reactions.
The like button has gotten an upgrade you can hover over with your cursor to react or hold down the like on mobile

So I remained confused until @shnkrmn helped out.

Anyway, i can like stuff now ...

it is right there if you read the FAQ
You just didn’t read all of it or enough ….
ive been here since 2008, trust me its there, because i know its a question people ask.
