Is 14 hours of darkness ok for budding?

Can yields from lessened daylight hours be counteracted by increasing light strength/DLI to compensate? There is a post floating around where someone is talking about 7 hours of light per day of flower.

yes but if the plant could handle more you would have given her more in the first place.

Yeah roughly it will knock a bit of time off. But you also lose those 2 hours of light a day x 7days x how evermany weeks you had the plant in flower which will equate to less yield overall. It can also slightly alter bud structure too.

I'm currently running an extra hour and a half dark, about 2 + weeks left in flower, was going to increase to another half hour, so full 2 hours more dark but think I'll stay as is till harvest, as I can accept slight yield loss but don't think it's worth altered bud structure! More light gives heavier crops but at the cost of more time.

10/11hrs get down to budding quicker, 12/13hrs grows more vegitive growth before flowering so you get more but it takes a bit longer.

All these plants are the same age, check 10/11hrs compared to 12/13hrs, in a commercial setting 8wks is it so it makes sense to cut the hrs, apparently you get more per crop m3 with more light hrs but more per year m3 with less light hrs.

I'll stick to 12/12 myself, haven't got the time for any longer than 8/9 week Finnish
