Well I bought them last week but they arrive tonight. A couple new chef's knives, 4 steak knives, and a set of pairing knives.

I got tired of the 20+ year old knives that were handed down to us from relatives before and after college, they weren't high end when they were new, and definitely not intended to be used beyond 2 decades. So some industrial style Victorinox like the ones I used in the 90's as a back of house cook. Not the most snobby of kitchen knives, but you can run over them with a food cart, let half the kitchen staff walk on them, pick them up wash them off and a few swipes on the stones or steels and they're back to cutting.

not sure if its ever going to catch on until they take the gross factor away from chewing up an insect
