As far as bands from up north, I’ve seen both Rush and Triumph several times in concert, but that was back in the 80’s, maybe even late 70’s. Both good bands for their time, esp when you figured in there were only 3 members in each. I found it funny they formed in the same area at about then same time.

The time I saw Rush, maybe 1979-80, the ticket cost $5USD, which is why I went. Bryan Adam's delivered an incredibly tight opening set. I had never heard of him, he was just breaking out, 20 years old. It seemed odd, this pretty, crunchy, pop boy opening for giants of prog rock at the time. But I remember that set more vividly now than the main event. Don't get me wrong, Rush delivered, but damn, Bryan Adams is on my desert island playlist. I love pop music.
