This is our first go at keeping "livestock". I'm hoping that the presence of the monster/barking dog on the property will help keep it at bay. Our girls are snug in a solid, stick-built shed at night close to the house...but yeah...never say never. Gonna do a few mods due to his presence so I have no guilt if something happens. When I first saw him up in the tree I told him "I know where you live, fucker". :blsmoke:

"Eat Mo' Chicken"...huh? :p Nah. We enjoy getting 5 eggs a day average...and all of our critters are too much like pets to eat. We suck at bein' farmers (other than the stuff ya grow). They are very spoiled.

This is precisely how my birds were. Pets that gave us eggs. And ultimately fed some hawks, coons, an owl, and possibly a bobcat. Lol

yeah i checked all the neighbors with dogs, the guy with the sausage dog had a little chi Wawa as well and had a brand new secure fence in there yard, definitely not them, I've crossed them off the list, just saying out of the three i asked two had proper yards and the people with 6 dogs rooming around had nothing and leave their front gate open, or its a fox, i need a trail cam or something

or an angry dog

Let's be honest, a fox is not likely to be a problem for sheep unless it was a baby. Sounds like you have shitty neighbors. Hopefully a trail cam or two can help prove it and cover your ass if you have to take action. Check local listings, but im pretty sure that most places will allow to eradicate a dog if it's harming livestock. Obviously not something you want to do, but after a civil talk with the neighbor, that is the only option left in a lot of cases. Best of luck!!!

There were a pair of them that got into the field behind my house and were killing lambs, the woman chased it and it went under my fence so she started yelling at me thinking it was my dog. :cuss: She learned quickly it wasn't and I told her where I thought they lived. Even California allows elimination of dogs that kill livestock:
