RDWC water height

I grow organic and decided I'm going to give a RDWC a try in one of my tents and am building a 2 pot system with a tank outside tent for a Gorilla 2x4. I understand when i first put the plant in the net pot the water level has to reach the plug with the plant until roots develop and grow out of your net pot. At that point what level would i run my system at? I am going with the CCH2O Net Pot 5.5″ . Do i run the level at the bottom of the net pot or higher/ lower? My buckets im running are the ez stor 8 gallons.

Out of habit, about ½" below the bottom of the net pot but I can't imagine it makes much of a difference. I wouldn't go lower than 2" though.

The only reason for that is that the more volume of nutrient solution you have in the res, the more you'll tend to have stability in terms of pH, nutrient levels, and thermal stability.
