Wow I speculated maybe heard before that plants have immune systems. Like, literally its fact and studied. That makes me feel better.

Id read how a budrot plant could be next to a super healhty plant for weeks before fallin victim. If you didnt know, now you do!

Im seeing more things now, my rez in flower is super cloudy compared to veg rez. A brand new setup I setup. Man, is it normal to perpetuate with grimey equipment? A little?

I cant see everyone doing that but I do see the issue now if you dont. Id think somewhere in between like once twice a year.

Just keep rez fresh. Otherwise its quite the hassle. I guess that comes with trying to make 12 pounds a year.

Ive had hvac guys say theyve worked on grows that had horrid conditions and so wanted to check mine. That mine isnt causing more issues than it was venting outside.

I had to stop but kept the setup which is nice. Roommates dont want to smell harvest which is like all day for couple weeks straight. Turns my room into a smell proof box.

Prisinor to my hash use and now growing lol. I cant help it. The growing has gotten rediculous to make me want to smoke weed again to make things easier.

I just cant though every time I consider it I just dab and think goddamn aint nothing like it. I quit hand ful of time but not long. I like go crazy if I dont use.

Same with growing, yes Im overwhelmed but if I quit Id go crazy from not growing, it happened before. Id rather dab less.

Man I seen some nasty ass grows no offense Im actually backing that up. You can only humanly clean things so much. These plants also grow outdoor which is never sterile.

My grow looks ok Il give myself that. I used to like the wear and tear I see after literally just one grow and on. Feels like one of those jobs youre not allowed to stand around.

Always must be seen cleaning something. Where do I want to stand in this? I guess as a lazy guy just keep aiming to not be lazy. Crazy this hobby changes personality.

Good to realize this and apply that to my upgrading setup, make things easy to take apart.

Btw I tried out the florakleen, it doesnt really strip things off like I expected. I used 5ml per gal basically with just water in spray bottle.

The jet stream seemed to help but not really anymore different than regular water maybe warm or hot would do the same.

Im sure its pulling things I cant see but hmm. I was expecting a couple sprays and salt is falling off but I sat there countless sprays it wasnt until I did jet stream.

Then it started to finally work but after countless sprays so I think its pressure washing more than the kleen is working.

Most grows aren’t sterile labs, and that isn’t really what I was suggesting by encouraging you to clean stuff. It’s just about good practices and not letting anything get overlooked.

In my perpetual grow, I cleaned all the pots and hydroton every time I harvested plants. That was just part of the reset cycle. I also cleaned the res and pump every time I changed it. My trays only got cleaned every 1-2 months as needed. So not perfectly sterile, but clean enough I never had any significant issues with infections or pests.

I just got done cleaning rez, refilling now. All pumps in bucket with pool shock and plugged wave maker in to circulate that. Feels good, wasnt that hard. Rez had some kind of perpetual bacteria build up was due.

Was just being a baby lol.Il do the tubing when I slowly upgrade them to be more clean friendly. Real soon like couple weeks.

Hell yea big difference. It wasnt this cloudy the shock expired I guess before 3 days which is first. Could be the bacteria just overtook it being so long since last cleaned.

Also realized the blender I use I dunk into the rez which is a no no. I guess you realize things when putting effort to clean up and stay clean.

Electric motor oil or whatever grease was surely getting into the rez. Didnt realize till I set it down and was filthy on my cabinet top.

Ive seen this before, why I didnt put two together idk. Everythings gonna be alright mon! Im starting to think the gnats and bacteria over ran the plant.

Missing piece to puzzle I just didnt know gnat larve feed on roots and can cause what Im experiencing. Starting to think its not fusarium.

Knowing the gnats better and how to rid them made a difference. Also the vivosun 1150gph pump the feet suck, bleach dissinigrates the rubber feet, also not helping.

So yea it wasnt feeding that cloudy but I guess ever since feeding heavy making dark solution, I forgot what clear looks like.

It was always a little cloudy for a while now. Just didnt realize, like hey, my veg rez is same ec and sparkling clear! Like claritin clear!

I get tossing wilted colas but Im not clear on discolored. These tops are to be trashed then? Theyre in a hot spot of light. I just dont know where the line is. People harvest discolored buds all the time.

I sorta know what you mean but at same time idk, Ive harvested and consumed bud from a deficient plant and or light burned.

Id conclude that this is a bit different. The plant I tossed had wilted colas, like it was harvested but still on the plant. That can point to mold I guess, just not visible.

Just this dried up cola. Ok so chop that toss it. It does it again, repeat. Consider chopping early if you made it far enough.

Now this is looking serious, several colas doing this, discoloration slightly then bam, dead in one light cycle.

So now the discoloration can hint towards contamination and in a salvage op like mine. Just toss those and chop the rest. Toss any colas or parts of it that touched the dead cola.

Thats cause not knowing exactly what mold it is, just a search will tell ya”Macroconidia: Boat-shaped, pink spores that are produced on infected plant parts and can be dispersed further”

Is a way fusarium spreads I searched, and many other molds like say budrot. They can spread to surfaces they touch so I still feel I did the right thing.

If no colas wilted they just slowly burned out from the lights too close or nutes, ph, list goes on. Its not a reson Id toss. Cant be tossing good product either.

Like now, two clones side by side one had one wilt. Weird it didnt happen again but I tossed. Now to be very watchful daily. Not to ramble in short now Id apply what I said if it continues.

Just for sure want to avoid mycotoxins so cut it out and around it. I just now looked into what those toxins can do, I knew it wasnt good but damn.

nature has many predators that control the population.indoors you get one gnat nobody eats him and he populates the whole room.
have you ever considered doing non sterile grow? i dont know if trichoderma would eat your problem in water???

By the way the clone in question grew a 5 tip. I think itll be worth keeping. For sure really cool temps. Actually just checked, 72F. I dont think Il have that with the lights I want to use.

I want all sep lights so I can control each side of the 4 clones on different schedules.

I havent tried using the bits properly, ibarely put any. Im seeing if that works before buying a bunch. Says to layer the top. If chlorine will kill those BT bacteria Idk thats a good question.

I tried working with hydroguard before it makes everything worse. Super slimey the reservoir goes rancid in matter of hours.

Said 3 ppm the person I learned the formula from but really I dont think it has to be exact. To me more is better than not enough. Soon as it runs out I have to make a new reservoir.

Usually dont have to though. Idk what happened the other day it ran out. Only thing that changed is less feeding so it was fuller.

I wouldnt say everything, it doesnt kill pythium. Wow first the amazon got a AI bot that was creepy how helpful it is and now its integrated in google.

I havent been using any ai of any kind since it started other than whats already in technology. Idk like for ex I dont use chatgpt or ai art nothing.

But is said this

Chlorine is not effective at quickly treating Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt). Bt is similar in structure to Bacillus anthracis, the bacteria that causes anthrax, and can survive for years in water. Chlorine, chloramines, UV light, and boiling water for one minute are not effective treatments for Bt. However, some say that moderate concentrations of chlorine (about 10 mg/L) can effectively disinfect Bt spores in biofilm-conditioned pipe loops when used at a high flow rate. In laboratory experiments, much higher levels of chlorine (100 mg/L) were needed to achieve significant disinfection

Its good to toss a recently sexed plant from seed if it only grew male flowers right? Shoot, my wonky clone thats doing better forgot to add that I saw mostly male flowers on it until I saw one pistol.

Thats weird I guess Idk males too well they grow sacs sure but the male flowers can look almost female if it doesnt have the pistil.

For the spray bottle kleen solution, I would at least add the full strength 10ml, if not more (seems you shouldn't be spraying very much, maybe go 15?), and only really use it like that to blast the drip rings, water diffusers, and other areas right above the pots. Only the places that the solution would end up running down into the medium during grows.

Spray/wipe everything outside that zone (trays, tubes, etc) with a some bleach water, seems you already have it added to the res at all times right?. I prefer vinegar (ACV) for general grow room/hydro sytem cleaning (especially around aquariums\fish, being non toxic), but can't recommend that because you shouldn't go mixing it with or around bleach\calhypo..

Hooking up quick disconnects with valves to all your plumbing lines can help make cleanings a snap, even during a grow cycle. Being able to break down any part of the system in no time, and take it out somewhere else to clean it easier. I always found its best to double up on everything when I did DTW, and have 2 whole sets of equipment. Especially when growing perpetually. Have another entire clean reservior and pump setup ready to go and change over too, so you have more time to deep clean the dirty one.. Then keep swapping back and forth every so many changeouts..
