Is it fine to defoliate during flowering?

I'm just wondering if it's fine to defoliate or take off fan leaves that are blocking but sites I have this 1 kinda bushy plant and just tryna see if it's ok to

It's an autoflower ab 2-3 maybe 4 weeks into flower

leave alone, autos need as much energy to flower properly. thats my opinion anyway

from experience, leave alone cause it can cause them to stop, they need as little intervention as possible.

With autos I try to avoid any defoliation or topping to get best yield. A strong main light helps with this a bunch.

If the plant is healthy, it’s ok to take a few….but only if they are blocking bud sites or if they need to be removed to increase airflow.

I now "removing leaves to expose the bud sites" is a big part of cannabis grower lore. What I can't figure out is how it benefits the plant. I have a handful of reasons why I think it reduces crop yield but I'll refrain from raising those issues and pose a question instead.

If removing some of the leaves from the canopy of a cannabis plant will be beneficial to the plant, why not remove every leaf from the canopy that blocks any light from the bud sites below the canopy so as to ensure that all bud sites under the canopy are exposed to light?

Try it both ways. How many plants do you have? Experiment. Defoiliation could be beneficial in your case. Increasing air flow reducing microclimate. Also reducing chance for pest and disease. I actually will be doing this in my current grow.

What I would suggest is to find a mentor, asking a question in an open forum will get you some opinions. Find someone who will take some time to share with you the ins and out. My 2 cents.

I have 3 I have been I topped 1 and it looks like it decreased the yield the plants genes supposed to be "high yield" I'll see ab that then I just lst one without topping and js let one grow the 2 I didn't top looks like it has way more
But I have been experimenting just not like lolipopping an all that

Ideally you want it about 50% but it's different if your chasing vpd and running more light etc

U want it above 50%? I thought it had to be like 35-50 or sum around there I'm just going by a vpd chart fr
