Hello and thank you in advance,
Here is a link to a photo gallery of my six plants: .
The reason for the post is that I’ve noticed what I believe to be “bud rot” on
most if not all of my plants to varying degree. I admit I wasn’t paying very
much attention to humidity. Also, for context I live in San Diego, CA. Since
I noticed the issue maybe a week ago I did prune a bunch of fan leaves to hopefully
increase airflow and I did chop off some of the most egregious rot sites in the hopes
that the problem could be stopped. The plants are in a part of my yard that gets a
good breeze and I don’t water from the top. I believe the autoflowers are maybe only
a week or so away from a potential harvest with the other two plants being a bit
further out from harvest.
  1. I would like to know how bad everyone thinks this is as I’ve read many say
to just toss the whole plant in cases like this.
  2. I would like to know if anyone has any solutions to salvage what can be. At
one point I thought I came across some chemical process to isolate or extract
the oil from the plant matter and the mold.
Thank you again and I’m happy to provide any additional information if needed.

Sadly, as you encounter it, you’ll have to chop it off. Have had my share of bouts with botrytis over the years, however, nothing you can do but excise it and hope that it didn’t spread too extensively.

Don’t get cute with it either. If it’s on the bud, chop it & chuck it. No high is worth smoking mold my friend. GL!!!
