Have I gone too far

I’m struggling with been able to determine if I’m ready or not for my Bubba Kush. I may have gone too far. Some pics the trichomes are clear and others are full of amber. I’m about seven weeks into flowering. I’m growing in a 10 gallon pot fox Farm soil.

No no issues with except my impatient. I really thought I want to far when I saw the amber. I believe it has a 8-9wk flowering window. believe it has a 8-9wk flowering window.

So what should I be looking at. It seems the trichomes on the sugar leaves turn first. Which is what I was going by. I think. Thanks
Ignore breeder harvest estimates, they are designed to sell seeds.

The signs of ripeness are pretty standard for cannabis plants.

First a few of the pistils begin turning color and start receding. Your plant is just starting to ripen. Depending on the strain you could still have two months to go. We're just starting this journey.

Two to four weeks later you'll notice that most of the pistils(>80%) have now changed color and curled back into the bud. It's frosty, way bigger than it was a few weeks ago(aren't you glad you waited), and smells are dank! It's time, right? Not a chance killer. Patience is a virtue.

Over the next 2-3 weeks it doesn't look much different, maybe a little more swelling in the calyxes, and the rest of the pistils change over, but the stems are starting to bend under the weight of the buds. These ladies are putting on weight internally by adding density and now the buds are doing their final ripening.

Now you begin looking at trichomes, on the calyx, not the leaves, and harvest according to your preference. When looking at trichomes it’s essential to look at them from the side. The bulbous heads can magnify the opaque stalk under it. Looking from the side allows you to more accurately see the condition of the resin in the trichome head.

There is still no rush to harvest, the window just opened, and you have several weeks before you MIGHT start having to think about it possibly beginning to get too ripe. It takes WEEKS for plants to mature not days.

It is very easy to harvest a plant to early. It is very hard to harvest a plant to late. I’ve never seen someone accidentally wait too long.

Agreed with TC.
When I've grown Sativa dominant hybrids, I've had to wait for 12-13 weeks before they were done.
I also agree with the nugs packing some density during that period.
Be Patient...

Don't pay much attention to the trichomes, with outdoor there are a lot of environmental factors that can turn trichomes amber before the plant is mature.
Watch for the majority of the calyxes to fatten up and the white hairs to dry. My guess is at least two more weeks probably more like three.

They are close, i see some clear, some milky and some amber. The old saying, "if you think they are done wait two weeks", go another week at least... I'd watch that dew and may want shake the majority of that water off, just be careful not to break your buds off. Yeah i agree with the other let your calyxes fatten up in the majority of the bud...

Those are guidelines not rules more so things go longer than what breeders say most of the time bubba took at 8 weeks isn't as good as at 10 or more some folk take it longer especially for bed time smoke also never go off leaf trichs only look at the ones on the buds

Depends on what type of buzz you want.
Also it is important to remember that this, like anything, is subjective to the individual.

To me it looks done and about the couch lock stage and much longer the triches will stale during drying and curing.

Gotta remember the buds will continue to mature during drying and curing. Still a lot of nutrients they feed on.

Remember the stems are just to transport, the roots and fruit is the actual intelligent parts.
