Damn, that's a drag. How could stuff rot in this weather? Those genetics suck. Glad the PTK is performing well for you.

I had three Mai Tie that started to get some rot in just a couple days, came out of no where. I’m in the process of taking them down now. Luckily I’m not losing a lot, but it sucks all the same.

I swear that last rain we got came from the south carried up all the spores I was spotless until 48 hrs after that rain soon as i saw it I turned off the fans an it kept ripping thur everything.??

Seems to me that later in flower as the plant gets weaker from old age, issues start popping up that didn't bother them when they were younger and stronger. Same with people.

Same deal here. No sign of mold until the past few days and it started with a vengeance. Had to cut all the big tops off of two plants or they were destined for the trash bin. Still managed to harvest some impressive buds but damn, what they coulda been in a couple of weeks. “Donkey dick” colas are great for Instagram posts and indoors but not for northeast outdoor grows.

Thats rough. I just got a batch of seeds from CSI Humboldt where I specifically asked for mold resistance. I paid $200 and got 9 packs of 7 seeds of Bubblegum, GSC, Pakistani Chitral Kush, Purple Hindu Kush hybrids that are supposedly super mold resistant. I grow in pure fog (San Francisco)...literally 60 degrees, 90% humidity year round except Sept and March.

Best thing I've learned over the last few years is that genetics is literally everything (and plant health, but that's a given because we all know how to grow proper outdoors). And if genetics is everything, the breeders reputation / opinions are everything. Try out CSI's strains, especially the mold resistant ones.

Very interested to see how you make out. I have been eyeballing the CSI gear for awhile but having virtually no info on their site regarding flowering times or what strains are outdoor-compatible has kept me from buying.

I am leery of breeder claims these days…I have had mid-September strains go into mid-October and mold resistant strains melt before being anywhere close to ready. I think it comes down to phenotype, personally….gotta get lucky and have Mother Nature on your side. As far as weather, this season has been stellar and I’m still harvesting early so it’s not a total loss.

I have ran a few from CSI but only indoor was very happy.

Have you grown any of the regular open pollination lines CSI sells like Deep Chunk, 79' Xmas bud IBL, or Uzbekistani IBL? I haven't but I'd be curious to hear from any other outdoor growers who have.

Haven’t posted in awhile…Almost at the finish line!! Thinking about harvesting October 14-21st. My Moonshine Ghost Train Haze plants finish at the end of October/Early November, fingers crossed it stays somewhat warm until then lol..starting to hit 30s at night so who knows..The septoria has really crept up and almost completely defoliated my plants, as well as main juicy colas getting hit with botrytis..I’d say I lost about 25-30% so far due to rot. I have also been battling stem rot, but h2o2 seems to keep it at bay..Definitely gonna need to do a budwash..it’s a damn shame but whatever, that’s the price you pay for free light!! Needless to say i’m ready to start an indoor grow this coming winter

That seems like the reason he doesn't make breeder claims, which results in little info on flower times. His suggestions were based on clones, so anything "mold-resistant" needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

That being said, his crosses are the real deal.

He’s got a lot of history behind him and his strains and is also one of few breeders who maintains a consistently solid reputation in the biz. And from what I understand, he’s VERY generous with freebies. Initial pricing seems a bit steep but when you consider the number of freebies and the quality, his seeds are a bargain, IMO.

How many of you bud wash your outdoor? I’m on the fence now, I was gonna do the cervantes 1 cup h2o2 in a 5 gallon bucket, then a second bucket ..but is it really worth all that extra work? people seem to be divided on the subject, and it seems like a relatively new thing these past couple years..which is why i’m on the fence as people been growing and smoking un washed buds for decades before…i’ve seen vids of the gunk that comes out, but i’m still on the fence

If theres no pm or bud rot at chop i wouldnt bother, I deal with both every year so i wash an it really helps with out harm. But my depo plants with no pm or rot I wash because of all the pine pollen here we get buried in it early mid summer the bucket will have a heavy layer of yellow pollen floating after washing.
