The American Constitution is toilet paper

Colorado is overall very Blue but the split is deep; the Front Range from Douglas County up the I-25 corridor (mostly west of it as you go north from Northglenn) to the Wyoming border.

The rest of the state is deeply, resentfully, angrily Red, including CO-4 that was heavily redrawn in 2023. That's where Lauren Boebert carpetbagged her way to and unfortunately she's looking like the easy winner there. It's the deepest Red district in the state so it shouldn't be a surprise but Trisha Calvarese, the Democrat running against her, is a dramatically more knowledgeable and representative candidate for the area and its heavily agricultural industrial base. It is a hallmark of American politics that people will vote for their team rather than the better candidate and that's what's happening.

There's another district that's very close in the Denver metro area but I'm not well versed on the candidates or the issues. I predict Colorado will end up with 3 Republicans and 5 Democrats but that's just a guess based on how things went last time. Both Senators are Democrats.

My area in northern Colorado went very heavily for Bernie Sanders in 2016 and again in 2020 and is showing a suspicious lack of enthusiasm for the Harris campaign. If everyone turns out, Colorado is safely Blue. If not, it's a tossup. Therefore, turnout is key.
I find colorado VERY red they are absolutely loud you are 100% correct they are deeply angrily red, , i send @curious2garden photos of everyone at the local stores wearing shirts in voting for a felon.

I came from STL and i found St louis MISSOURI to be more blue than colorado.

it may vote blue here but i suspect thatsdue to boulder and denver it sure as fuck isnt blue outside either of those cities. I see more trump flags and bumper stickers than i did in missouri here

my mom constantly says but CO votes blue it should be better there and im like nah girl its like youre either REALLY REALLY RED and ANGRY about it or REALLY REALLY blue eco environmental person

in all the states ive lived in which is alot being bounced around the military ive never seen a more angry state

actually funnily enough some of our angriest banned rep members center in the blue voting states

Ain't it the damn truth?! LMAO

Both sides have got their propaganda narratives and they cling to them like they're holding a rope in a flood!

So statewide politics in Colorado is fully controlled by the Denver metro area, where over 60% of the state's population resides. I used to live there and I can't think of a worse place to have a Colorado address. Seriously.

Denver is liberal big city blue. Boulder is neoliberal with a thin veneer of hippy dippy Leftist- but don't scratch too deep! Fort Collins is both more Left and more Right than Boulder, but the end result is pretty blue.

If land voted Colorado would be bright Red; see CO-4 as an example. Ken Buck resigned and left the district open, a big middle finger to the party and his own constituents. Batshit Boebert, she of the handy in the movie theater fame, is the shoo in favorite to win the district, in spite of the fact that the only person she's ever represented in Congress is herself. Her Democratic opponent is Trisha Calvarese, who grew up in Weld County, knows the agricultural industry inside and out and would bust her butt for the district, does not stand a chance in the race. She's been outspent and out marketed by national interests who frankly don't give a shit about actually serving the constituents.

All that said, Colorado is usually a pretty good bellwether of which way national politics is headed. If Colorado slides Right, it's a safe bet the rest of the country is tilting that way, too.

If not happy move to a different country - IF you think you have it better their !! talking like this would put you in jail in another country // one doesn't know how good one has it in the US
Damn, I get tired of people talking like this. I love my country but it is in bad shape and going downhill fast- and as a citizen, it is my duty to be part of the solution. That means openly exposing the truth and dealing with it head on instead of vapid flag waving.

The notion that criticism of any kind is evidence of a lack of patriotism shows a complete lack of understanding of what America is all about - and frankly makes you sound like you're totally fine with America becoming an authoritarian State. Surely that's not what you really mean?

Be careful what you wish for because that's a very dark road that leads to wrack and ruin. America is not immune.

this is a statement or privilege and ridiculousness , most people cannot just up and move to another country

I know this because I am infact an immigrant to the USA

People shouldn't have to leave their home if they are dissatisfied, that is in essence why usa is a democracy you have the power to vote and make it a better place for you .

i actually think colorado is my least fav state i cannot wait till we move.

The entitlement here of people who were born here using the term "native" when they are in fact not indigenous, the screaming and rampaging if someone is transplant to "go back to where you came from"

It is a shame, it is way to packed here, over priced and no one can buy a home here unless they wanna drop 775k on a small town house with no backyard.

I dont share my location due to consistent death threats from members here however if youre military you have to be in specific amount of miles of your location or youre out of bounds.
We do travel around and that is nice, but its trump country out there

Kiddo can read signs now so its not as nice to have to go around and start dealing with that

Our last trip was to Panoia area

Death threats?! It's a weed site, FFS! I'm very sorry to hear that.

Military tells me you're very likely dangerously close to Colorado Springs and that is absolutely the heart of right wing Christian Nationalist darkness, for sure.

I'm not a fan of Colorado Springs, Fort Carson, Pueblo, etc precisely because of the politics. Focus on the Family kind of hard core Right wing. It's the Alabama of Colorado; that's not harsh, it's just a fact.

That's why I live on the other side of Denver. It's a whole nuther country up here.

If you watch any Trump rally, literally 95% or more of the entire thing is him complaining about how awful everyone and everything is. I honestly had no idea that republicans loved complainers so much. Super easy to prove it as true, just go watch any rally. Does that mean that he should....?

Complaining about America is the national pastime.

DOING something about it, now that's where it gets sticky; it seems no one is willing to take any risks at all and so they are ruled by fear. That's why Americans- on all sides of the political structure- are so easily manipulated by our political and business leaders.

I'm guilty of this as much as anyone, not doing anything about things and also for all these well rationalized reasons which essentially amount to fear. Getting involved helping people is always a great thing to do, but the thought of getting involved in politics feels suuuuuuper narcissistic, like look at me, I have all the answers and am the only one who can help you plebs! I know it's probably not like that, or at least it shouldn't be, but that's how the thought of it makes me feel.

My involvement is deliberately calibrated to supporting others into office. I've seen those jobs and I don't want them!
