I'm assuming rsc mg is Malawi gold real seed company the ace one is there Malawi x to rsc Malawi and tlt is the landrace team Malawi gold the bod x ujs is throwing me I suppose the bod could be short for bodhi? The ujs bit I'm not sure of str could be stardog
Pretty freaking close!

RSC mg = The real seed company (Afropips preservation) Malawi gold

TLT mg = the landrace team Malawi gold

STR = Somali taxi ride from rare dankness

Ace is referring to the ace malawi

Boo x ujs is bag of oranges x uncle John skunk

Looks like the brandywine caught a second wind. The flowers are starting to stack again. I did some defoliating and sprayed her with baking soda water as a preventative. The extra box fan has stopped the powder mildew in its tracks. Its important to stay vigilant and on top of these things, they can escalate quickly.

I picked some seeds this morning from the Brandywine. A few popcorn buds produced dozens of seeds. The seeds are mature, some are really dark brown already. I put this up for grabs in the new Take a pack leave a pack thread.

Im estimating to harvest hundreds of seeds from each plant at the end of the month.

Incidentally, my indoor gear arrives tomorrow... finally.

The little brown ball separate from the seed pile is finger hash. Lol

I also noticed that the MTF is starting to show some pink pistils. Its really interesting that only some of the pistils are doing this.

I sampled some of the Brandywine hash today. Its a really sweet smoke and the high is clean and mellow. It didn't feel heavy on the body at all. Its such a different effect from the Valley Ice. The Valley Ice hash had me freaking wired and energized.

I wonder what kind of effects I will find in the F1 Brandywine x Valley Ice. Depending on how the offspring turns out, I might focus on breeding that strain towards a more mellow high. It will be nice to have around some relaxing bud for those hectic days.

My indoor tent is set up. Im doing a test run with clones from mother #1. Getting things dialed in so I can be ready for the Valley Ice pheno hunting. I will be trying to maximize plant count, so they will be kept small and grown SOG style.

Three Mocha Berry from Copa genetics, and two Blood Orange from 12/12 seeds.
IMG_20241011_201600998_HDR.jpg

I pruned and cloned the males.

Mother got transplanted, and needs to be pruned again. Will take clones tomorrow. 17287147100823264763065509635275.jpg

Thats all for now. I plan to start a new grow journal for the f4 Valley Ice pheno hunt.

The SFV OG is finally starting to beef up. It will be the biggest yielder, for sure.

The Brandywine is showing some purple leaves. Colder temps at night are starting to stress her.

4 days in, the clones are starting to grow. Topped them and will focus on training 4-6 branches per plant. Will flip to 12/12 as soon as canopy fills up.

Both lights heat room to 80f and rh to 44. I placed a container full of water in there to raise rh, but I will need to add one more water container to raise the rh a little more. Lights off and fan off the rh is 70.

Only one plant looks kind of annoyed right now. Soil was a little hot, but they are adapting well. Im using Black gold, mixed with coco, and extra pearlite. Soil amendments Down to Earth.
Blood meal, fish bone meal. Top dressing with Jobes 4-4-4.
I will give them their first light dose of molasses next Wednesday. 1tsp per gallon of water.

I also started new seeds.
3 different strains.
-Amnesia Haze
-Malawi Gold
-F1 Brandywine x Valley Ice

Last bit not least. Moms are looking happy. One got a haircut, the other needs pruning again.

Its the only soil I use indoors. Ive tried lots of different soils, and most work just fine. I like Black Gold because its comes without fertilizers 0.5-0-0. It also holds water really effectively. Im experimenting with the addition of a little bit of coco to see if it helps prevent the dry top layer. Once that top layer dries out, it can be difficult for water to penetrate evenly.

This will be an important update. The plant that I originally selected to mother and continue breeding with has started to display a mutation. Some of the colas have a flat top. The flower formation is really dense, and not what I am after. Today I found bud rot, in a really early stage. I salvaged most of the flower. I selected this plant early on because of the vigor it displayed, unfortunately it ended up being the wrong plant to select.
IMG_20241017_141758126_HDR.jpgIMG_20241017_143712488.jpg

The good news is that I have successfully rooted and reversed clones from the perfect plant. Ive labeled it Valley Ice pheno #2. It has the foxtail structure that I have been hunting for, because it is super mold resistant outdoors. Coincidentally, I also selected the perfect male for back crossing! I am certain that the male has the right genetic code for the purple foxtailing flowers. Im amazed that its taken me almost a decade to find the perfect pair of plants to begin the actual cubing process. Im confident that I can make this Valley Ice strain into an IBL over the next decade...

Chopped down one of the plants today. This plant is the only one that ive found with bud rot, due to the flat top mutation. She could have gone another week, but the spike in humidity is starting to worry me.

The plant is incredibly frosted. I will continue breeding with her and turn her into an indoor strain. She has a lot of potential.

Im harvesting Brandywine tomorrow. She is also ready to come down.

Chopped Brandywine today. She had maybe 10 grams bud rot, dry weight.
Not too shabby. Im really on top of things this year.

Im chopping the MTF next. The nugs on this plant are rock hard. Super dense structure! Its unusual because most of the MTF that ive grown are a little more fluffy, similar to the purple sativa.IMG_20241021_143829038.jpg
The purple sativa, by the way, is holding on like a true champ. She is not disturbed by the muggy rainy weather. I will be chopping her down at the end of the month.

My goodness. This purple sativa was potent! My eyes were burning the whole time I was processing the flower. I cut her down because i spotted some mold in two of the main colas. She was ready. I lost half a zip to mold. Harvested a solid pound dry.
Im pretty sure this plant inherited the MTF flower traits. I was unsure at first, but my doubts were settled once I saw how easily and quickly the sugar leaves snap off. Its a really nice trait of the MTF. Incredibly high calyx to leaf ratio. Sadly most of the fruity notes are being overpowered by a strong pine smell.

Its going to be another full day in the greenhouse tomorrow. Harvesting 2 more plants. :blsmoke:

I should have took a picture of one of the colas. Its the size of a 2L coke bottle.
I have plenty of ripe seeds from this girl. It should be easy to stabilize her, because im very familiar with all the MTF traits in a good male. This is one of the advantages of working only two strains for several years. LOL. I know them both very well.
That's unbelievable, the potential of outdoor is amazing. I've heard good things about the MTF. The name alone is legendary
