You can live through four years of any president.

What you can't live through is a war with your neighbor.

Remember kids, we're all in this together. Puff puff pass my politically diverse brothers and sisters.
We are all in this together and we can live through any president if their main role is to defend the Constitution and Rule of Law in the US. But do you really think Trump's second term will be like his first or that he cares about upholding the Constitution and Rule of Law in the US?. Especially when the SCOTUS has empowered a president to rule as a king or a dictator? Even empowered to order the assassination of his political enemies?

Anyway, can our democracy survive four more years of Trump? It depends, on who Trump really is, doesn't it? His actions leading up to and including Jan 6 says it won't. If he loses, will Trump accept the result if he doesn't win? I don't think THAT was the little secret Trump was sharing with Mike Johnson at the rally last Sunday at MSG, when he perversely held a rally for votes while hinting that he has a way to defeat our democracy if he should lose.

But We See You, MAGA. This time, we know what Trump plans are. We are prepared to legally, peacefully and overwhelmingly defend the votes of everybody, including Trump voters should Trump try any of his tricks again.

.

It would be better if MAGA loses in a landslide and we don't need all of those lawyers or failing that, active resistance of We the People to defend our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

when trump wins, I promise it won’t be the end of the world. We might turn out better than you think! Smoke a joint, it will be okay.
Well my expectations couldn't be much lower and I firmly believe the world won't "end" whatever that means so you've got a fair shot at both IMO.

On a lighter note the Dems get to wash their hands of any responsibility for anything that happens over the next four years, it's all on you.

Don't fuck up.

I think I understand.

People who vote for Trump think they are voting for bottom on top.

I wouldn't mind that if it were true.

We just shot ourselves in the foot. My state voted against its interests and let billionaires buy every single important race with their out of state money, by showing really hateful and divisive ads. The Supreme Court is now loaded 6-1, the anti-gerrymandering amendment was purposely worded by our AG so that it was confusing and was defeated because of it, and we lost our best treasure - our bipartisan supported senator - for a literal used care salesman sycophant with zero experience. We embraced hate and division and let it consume us.

Bummer.

Good luck to Trump and his MAGA extremists that he will appoint on not wrecking everything that Biden has set him up with. I wish the best for us all (especially all of our global allies and vulnerable here who are in Trump and his dictator pals' crosshairs), only time will tell what comes of this.

I am not surprised though. When I heard a Trump female supporter making a completely accurate and intelligent assessment on how the rich would take advantage of the 'no taxes on tips' and a couple other points, but then concluding that Trump's position was to stop that and not Harris's (in a totally sincere non-trollific) way, I realized that Musk and the other billionaires buying up all the media that allowed the foreign dictators attacking us to continue unchecked so that they could to keep as many of us snowballed as possible it was going to be tough for Harris to pull off the win. The Democrats made a nice push the last couple months, but it just wasn't enough.

Oh well,

So..... you have an idea on what tariffs are, and how they work, right?
You know China has tariffs on American products right? Why do you think they don’t sell American made there? Trump put tariffs and guess why happened…… ready…. Prices went down.

toyota has made moves to be manufacturing here, And the other companies will eventually. Brings jobs back to the states.

Consumers have proven that they value cheap prices for manufactured goods. Take a look at how Walmart and Amazon are hurting local businesses by undercutting them with cheap substitutes. Tarrifs will increase prices, because they will get passed on to the consumer. Companies wont simply eat that cost. Manufacturing jobs have been leaving countries that have higher safety standards and wages, because those costs are baked into to the manufacturing cost of those products - leading to higher prices. I live in a rust-belt state that has had a fall from grace after the steel and manufacturing industries took a major hit. There were many recent promises made to keep some of those plants open, but they “fell through” and closed anyway after the votes were tallied in 2016.

It is false hope that manufacturing jobs will come back, because the wheels have been set in motion to do just the opposite, for years. The individual pushing this idea is lying to the public. These jobs are being outsourced and the products made elsewhere— for cheap - just like all those red hats, gold shoes, and bibles.
