Urgent help black/ brown slime on roots dwc

So I've been abroad for a few days and my Mrs has been looking after my plants for me and came home to brown (smelly) slime in my reservoir.
I washed the roots cleaned and bleached all the tank air stones ECT. I Made some light blocking top rings because I thought light could have been penetrating to the water through the gaps in the net pots. I then re filled the reservoir with nutrients and adjusted the ph.. unfortunately my Mrs has been sat at home all day today with the heating on because where I live is freezing in the winter and I have heating pipes in range of the reservoir. Therefore after less than 24 hours I've just checked the water with my meter and the water temperature is 29c/84f and the roots look worse than ever.. although I'm not sure if it could be canna rhizotonic sticking to the roots with it happening? Hopefully someone with experience can help me here

I was supposed to have a grow tent delivered over 3 weeks ago but spider farmer and their absolutely terrible, slow and almost non existent customer service (don't bother replying spider farmer my patience has already ran out with you) have forced me to use my small cupboard because I was trying to speed things up.. my question is do I buy a temporary grow tent from Amazon and have it delivered tomorrow where I can move it to a room in which I can completely control the room and water temperature and carry OR chop them down and call it a day until either the tent gets delivered or ask for a refund and buy a suitable size tent from some where else?

Here are some photos of my current situation and I'm on the fence as it's stands

Move it to that room just prop up a fan and hang light some how? Theyre young still but yuck hopefully its not screwed idk dwc Id think Id have these issues easily. Aquarium heater? If to move to room have door open maybe another fan give them fresh co2 if they get bigger.

I wouldnt cause a tail chase with buying stuff returning stuff Id think if you can control the room you can control the plants with or without a tent. Vs where its at now. For sure be careful with heaters and fabric tents. Idk hope that helps, just trying incase noone answers.

Haha I would love too, but Id have to board up the windows some how otherwise I would have issues with light leaks to the plants and worse, out to my nosey "well to do neighbours" and i don't want to ruin the interior decor of my home I've decided to buy a mini tent and just hold out for a week or so because the rooms in my house are way too big to heat to a suitable temperature cost effectively. The tent will be here tomorrow so I will try everything again and hopefully they will survive if not I will just have to change my approach and maybe move to soil or coco or totally start again

I suffer light leaks even with tents or at least the ones where lights can hit the window like you say. When I open them. I put mylar over the windows. Idk if its somewhere that that would look tacky but yea lol the grow hobby sucks you in I got my roommates to comprimise a lot lol.

Was gonna say if youre still finding out your main grow method I love drain to waste coco. Soil sounds awesome but too good to be true for me, plants always sick and small.

Aquarium heater and inkbird temp probe. I just been there where I was building as I was growing I dont recommend it lol. Kinda have to though but yea just would hate to see others waste but it happens. I sold like $1000 in equipment realizing its not for me.

If I just waited a few runs I would of spent it differently to say the least, Il say that and not ramble. Hope it gets figured it best of luck! Hopefully others chime in. Im newer. I mean if youre exanding before finding a grow method first and even for a little after that.

I'm more concerned of my neighbors with the light leaks from plants with out a tent as it's illegal in my country and all was fine before I went away and my Mrs put heating on full blast obviously if I use the tent and move to a room in my house turn radiator off the water temperature will be once again be requiring a water heater and I won't be needing to board up the windows for the nosey neighbors . I've decided going to see this grow out regardless even if they die just for the experience and that's is something that can't be taught or bought

Yea hanging mylar it doesnt leak out the window I mean one side of my grow and others dont but the side of the place that worried me is light tight. I just need to do the others but its legal in my area.

Forgot to say 84F water temps or air temps doesnt sound awful its actually familiar temps I see people do. Especially with rooting clones some say its the secret sauce.

Hopefully you find a grow method rather its this one or not, that just makes the rest history. For me it was dtw coco. If in a hurry for meds maybe try one set a side in soil maybe also one in coco though needs daily watering.

So rizotonic whatever, its just seaweed extrac? You putting bleach or h202 or pool shock in it? I couldnt keep a reservoir clean unless it had that. No micobes. I get timid to answer dwc but Im almost in the same ball park. I know those help keep clean but only until it gets too advanced.

You are so lucky with it being legal where you're from I wish it was here my air temps are around 25c with the light. But I have been told maximum temperature for dwc water is 22c and mine run at 19-20 with heater obviously when you have extremely hot water pipes next to the reservoir from heating being on it drastically raised the temperature? But that's interesting what you say about rooting clones at 84f. I'm totally new to this weed growing game so maybe I'm looking for problems that aren't even problem as my plants look great? Maybe it's the type of nutrients I am I'm just panicking I don't know but I'm praying for my blue cheese to make it regards because back in the day that stuff was absolutely fire

Il say I never seen anything like this wow. Rot or additive idk. I rooted clones in water once dwc I doubt I could pull off. Never rooted again and kept sliming. I read dwc thread curiously but dont comment. People say hydrogaurd but I couldnt keep a bucket from rotting in 1 day using that stuff warm temps.

Even cool temps if I recall right I just didnt need it idk why it was recommended to me then in dtw coco. Steril worked better but still rots quickly so yea I doubt I could grow a plant in water but its aaalmost the same Im still hydro. Just more additives.

Yea I loved blue cheese though there are some weird phenos I smoked from the market that wasnt quite it.

I'm not sure exactly what it is but it's very very dark and smells aswell to be honest... maybe it's that which has stuck to the roots with the slightly high temperature because it literally just washed off with the tap and the water isn't slimey it was only the roots?

And I'm not using h2o2 but I have some ordereda d on the way maybe that could be the cure.. I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew to start

And yea I forget how lucky I am but still paranoid its not 100% legal its a weird time to be active Il say that lol. I just think of the weed factories and stores everywhere that Id buy from anyway how does that make sense. Im in the US of A.

Bad odors are never a good sign that leans towards something rotted. I figured its either fall out as some nutes do it or sometimes the grower has too manu additives causing chemestry to happen. The odor is a bad sign though.

Hang in there! I had plenty of set backs theyre tuff but 9/10 if people keep trying they get some good times in with good harvests.

I'm just going to go alone for the ride and see what happens hopefully one of the 3 survive but failing that I still have plenty of beans left to have another try and I wouldn't say it is a bad bad odor just doesn't smell like normal but the rhizotonic has a funky smell it naturally maybe it's that they're only 10 days old so I'll leave them be and if they die they die... roll on death ☠

Well idk about fall out thats when you have like iron shards lookin particles weird stuff floating around. Its more like somethings growing on it maybe. It dont wash right off?

I shouldnt keep trying to help Im not that experienced and am cluttering the thread it may or may not help bring answers. I just try to help if it seems like no one is, I saw all the thumbnail views.

Hope its not alive just a build up of something maybe thats something general hydroponics florakleen is good for. I got some that just havent used it it doesnt clean as vigorously as some say. That salt build up would wash right off, but it didnt any more than spraying water on it.

May help in dtw coco in lighter ways I cannot see that is still good to use which is for mineral build up. Never seen this black tar goop though but the roots look white instead of yellow or brown which even then can be ok sometimes its for other reasons. I think.

So yea this is wild Id tag someone to help but idk the last time Ive seen them. Dont be affraid to ask people questions at worst they wont respond. I actually got put in place once for NOT asking questions lol it helped a lot to hear.

Thanks man! The slime literally just washed right off, but that could be that I caught it right away?

I've got a small temporary tent arriving today aswell as black hose for the air and I'm going to totally change the reservoir and clean it and also soak the net pots In h2o2 and then add a small amount of h2o2 to the new reservoir water and hopefully that will cure it.
I'm going to fight it the best I can either way because they're still healthy. And hopefully I can find an answer? We shall find out in the next few days

Avoid organic inputs growing in DWC. Rhizotonic do more harm than good in a hydroponic setting. I've used regular unscented bleach for years as an oxidizer, its way safer and more effective than h2o2 that has very short action. Bleach(sodium hypochlorite) has residual effect of days compared to hours with h2o2.

You find the chlorine dilution calculator with recommendations in my signature.

Excellent man! Just what I was looking for! I'll search for a calculator now and I'll completely change everything tonight

If your reservoir is running above 22'C you need to either add beneficial microbes, or go antiseptic, which I strongly recommend -- but DON'T do both. For antiseptic, go down to your pool/hot tub shop and pick up a packet of 70% pool shock (Calcium Hypochlorite). Add 1.5 g to 500 ml H2O for a stock solution, then every 2-3 weeks, add 1 ml of the stock solution per liter of reservoir. Cheap, easy & effective.

My reservoir temps were stable at 19C and everything looking great before by as you can see the hot water pipes are right next to the box and my Mrs has been rocking the heating full blast while I've been abroad for a few days to do some work on my villa and they were 29 when I came back. I also have pool shock for my hot tub which is lucky I think I will remove the rhizotonic and go full anti septic because I think it will be far easier to control. What are you thoughts? The last thing I want is to be dealing with root rot the whole grow
