Yes, even in recirculating systems it seems. My 5 gallon buckets are absolutely packed with roots and I didn’t veg but like 2 weeks. Will be upgrading to 8 or 13 gallon with 3in pipes in the near future. Probably after this coming harvest.

The current rdwc I have running have 2" piping I have no experience with other sizes but seems to work great. I think I'll stick to 9 gallons it seems to be truth bigger is better. Res doesn't need to be changed as often and pH and temperature of the water seems to remain more stable

I just have 1" lines from my 27 gallon tuffboxes but I do have four exits lol

I’ve got 1in lines too, I gotta unclog them from time to time. Once I’m flowering its res changes every 5 days to a week, once the ph starts dropping and the ec starts rising it’s time for a change.

I use torus hydro perfectph and it always keeps my pH stable. It's a great product I highly recommend it for RDWC or DWC.

The key is the get the pH to whatever your preference you want then drop perfectph and will keep it within .2 range of it. PH will start to swing when it's time to recharge perfectph which last 2-3 grows between recharging for me. I put my friends on it too. It's great for anyone using a hydro setup.
