Who stores their stash in the freezer?

About 25 years ago, I learned some of the ropes from an old toker that grew up in the ’60’s. He always stored his stash in the freezer. I thought it was odd, but at the time I figured he put it there because no one would think to check the freezer if he got robbed or raided. I never got the chance to ask him about it (or a ton of other things) as he sadly passed away a few years after that.

Then I was reading in Cannabis Pharmacy about how storage at room temperatures can maintain potency for ~90 days, while storage at low temperatures (they mentioned -4 degrees F) keeps cannabinoid and terpene levels almost unchanged virtually forever (I’m sure that’s not true, but I’m sure it extends the shelf life considerably).

I now wonder if the old toker knew that or not . . . I like to think he did . . . .

anyway, who stores their stash frozen?

Most people do it if they need to store it for any longer periods of time. I keep all my concentrates and flowers in the freezer after drying and curing. It doesn't degrade nearly as fast in the freezing cold.

My grandparents used to keep money in their freezer. When they died 20yrs ago, we found 50k in the basement freezer. Lol, that and other places. It was like a damn Easter egg hunt.
But.... No I don't store flower in the freezer. Concentrate, yes I do. But if someone breaks into my house, they've got a whole lot more to worry about than finding my stash.
