Hello growers,

I'm on my second grow. First coco grow. I’m switching to 12/12 and wanted an input about Maxi grow and bloom in stretch. Do I continue for a couple of weeks with maxi grow, switch to bloom only or use both in stretch phase and switch to bloom only in week 3?

MaxiGrow is unnecessary. You can do your whole grow with just MaxiBloom without the grow. I've been doing it for many years.
Welcome to RIU.

I just use maxibloom start to finish. I find the ec sweet spot start low go up till it stops being pale unless its already good. If taking clones I just keep the ec right on the dot the whole time start to finish now that I know the ec sweet spot.

I learned that from Mick Foster speaking of lol. Made my life way easier. I start full strength from seed or clone, not .5ec total thats impossible if your tap is already .5ec. It doesnt happen in nature.

People debate if maxi gro has a little more micro or macro nutes that veg plants love and grow slightly stronger from. I havent ran into issues not using it tho. As for the when to switch, some used to say try first two weeks maxi gro then switch to bloom. You must of saw that.

I dont think it matters, you can switch on day one or 14 of flower to maxibloom. Idk if you asked if you can mix the two but Id say the answer is no. Maxi gro is 10-5-14 and maxi bloom is 5-15-14, you mess that up by mixing them and can create lock out.

Nutes arent supposed to be messed with. Maxi bloom is a finished product ready to use. I hate that it goes bad fast from opening and closing bag. So I take some out of a bucket with gama lid and put in sandwhich bag and serve my plants from that. It quickly gets humid and wet and dissolves at unpredictable rate it gets fustrating.

I think liquid nutes like flora trio would help with that tho youre paying more for the water in it. Anyway, so maxibloom tho owned by hawthorne or whatever, is more easier to use than jacks which is a better brand to support. I was told by seasoned growers with jacks youd need help from the manufacture themselves. Maxi series isnt like that, just find the plants preferred dose and keep it there.

I dont think the plants mind a simple diet from veg to harvest. Like maxibloom from start to finish.

Are you in a humid environment, medidedicated?
My buckets of 50 lbs of maxibloom stay dry and dissolve well years later. Maybe you can store it in the room with a dehumidifier?

Its the damnest thing lol. Its like super hydroscopic or whatever. As soon as it enters the sandwhich bag it becomes humid as if I breathed into the bag, condensation. Sometimes it holds up for a week while other times it quickly gets mucky and dissolves weaker. Cold water makes it take even longer.

The bucket I used to tear lid off so it didnt sit flush to bucket so the too layer of fert went goopy. 50-60rh basement but cool 60-70F. I just buy gama lid and seal it tight between uses and hasnt done that since. It still happens in flower room in the sandwhich bag thats about 75-80F and 40-50rh.

I appreciate your time and information for new growers like me. I will switch to bloom. Could you tell me when to add Terra Aquatica Hyperbloom as a PK booster? In week 5 and 6 and finish with bloom?

Idk what that is lol. They sell tons of bottled stuff its kinda a money grab. Thats why you see charts that dont make sense. At least to me. All I use is maxibloom and bleach because I have to. I thought the other day I was able to remove it but my water spoiled in less than 24hrs lol. My water must really suck.

Its hydro. Its rock salt. The plants roots get a taste of that and go yummy! They explode in growth. They clearly have everything they need.

Hydro does lack things that soil does have that is a rabbit hole to study but can improve quality. Microbes triggering things in the plant that produce resin etc. I forget.. Its interesting but the way I do things Im thinking even tho hydro doesnt require skill like organics, it has its magic in consistancy.

On a larger scale and being hash only where I study my plants and must be consistent between plants at all times which organics cant do as good. Or at least with my skill set if Im already trying to move onto bigger projects like breeding.

It’s European hyper bloom like kool bloom in the US. I have time to figure this out lol I tried Cannazym and diamond nectar but didn't see any benefits. I like to run sterile. Can't stand the cannazym smell in my reservoir loo
