So I looked into this cuz Im a bluecheese fan, had it in early 2010’s. It was distinctly bluecheese smelling with hints of blueberry. When it became legal a decade later I had some knock offs that sucked. Then boom, that classic bluecheese again for sale at store to smoke.
So I guess some quick homework could be wrong but thats big bhudda which split into two companys, make sure its the right one. They lost the clone but found it again thru a grower.
So it was a f1 but now he back crossed the clone with a reversed mother of cheese something like that. Not specified how many times tho sonit could be a needle in hay stack to get that pheno still but it helps. It was a blueberry male crossed to female cheese by big bhudda and was a special clone but was lost but found as stated.
Id for sure look further into this and possibly get from big bhudda if you still want it. I know the real blue cheese, us consumers could never stop talking about it. More of a aroma over looks and effects type of thing. Which makes sense because I never had a strong blueberry strain like bluedream, was always weak or I never had the real deal. From deacription, I think I did and still didnt care for it.

Milo from Big Buddha seeds set up another seedbank called The original big buddha family farm seeds for some unknown reason before he sadly passed away which are still going .
Also how eard the Barney's farm one isn't any good either.

I actually bought some blue cheese from store like I mentioned and it said barneys farm on it. Ever since then I just knew that wasnt it lol. Idk who grew the one that I knew was the real deal I cant remember.
Thats weird tho because I never seen a breeder listed like that, that I would eventually come across again as a grower going to seed bank several times throughout time.

Bluchi from London city genetics is pretty damn good or also I found Barney's used to be good but if your going that option I'd go for the triple cheese over the blueberry cheese ones they turn out more like there old BC used to ime

Id take a hard pass on there seeds unless it's old stock there not so great granted his first releases were better

Thats the thing. I got to breed for hash but its parrallel to the smoke too. Why wouldnt a seed stock of the original breeder that bred it off a cut he selected from a grower to recover. So it must of been “the one.” Why would another breeders be better especially if he came by the pheno a completely different way and nose/senses?
This I think how a real deal can get broken down into different versions. Say you find the best pheno from a different breeder, thats got to be very different from the real deal? I kinda saw it happen with gg4 I had a different pheno that I actually think was better than the others I got that were close, but more bag appeal.
So its just not the same plant. Whats better about the different breeder? Just sounds like there are different versions of the bluecheese now but damn thats just the weird thing about it all. All I think is important is either preservation or that you can change somethings about it but its still what everyone wants.
Like in this case you could change the way it looks but keep the smell but add more potency. Its not gonna be the same exact pheno everyone collectively called the real deal, idk. Some people just want THAT pheno and remember breeders saying they were committed to doing that. Its something the general market wants.
Dont you get mad when you say youve had gg4 but turns out you never had the real deal? Feels like you didnt get to have something ground breaking. Some people just want what they had before but thats hard to do, it depends on how the process all played out. The clones go bad, the seeds go bad quick, 5 yrs.
Someone has to really put that extra mile in to keep it going unaltered and even then its going to expire and need to be used in the next project. Or else its just gone to the past.

If it wasnt bx a few times at least youd be hunting for that too. Its just very fsimilar to my project but the case here is finding that good blue cheese. Ive had it before. If they really want to deliver it in seed form they have to in breed so you can just buy 12 seeds of each and get an idea of which is better. Id try to personally smoke each one if I could just buy the smoke first but of course it doesnt usually work that way.

Thatd be awesome and a new vibe to explore at the dispensary. Just have a portion where home growers can test the seed market of stuff grown, the more inbred, the more likely youll get that in your home grow. Usually there are stuff very different from the seed banks. Rarely will that happen. Maybe when its fully legal in the future we might see that. Otherwise I aint buying shit from them.

All I really was trying to say was Ive had the real blue cheese Im just not sure how a different breeder has better blue cheese. As an aspiring breeder It would bother me if someone did that to me. But how tho, in this case its about smell over all other aspects so idk how ones bluexheese is better than the original breeders.
Im not getting super deep into it as its not my project but was wondering what you thought about that.

Oh ok bud well what it is is half of them don't have the original lines of it the right parents makes the difference bud as for unique phenos in the line female seeds preserved a blueberry muffin leaning pheno called blueberry cheesecake everyone else aimed for BC phenos more so and as for your project it's different for example your after resin glands not flower mass so stuff with a more open structure will work bit better Vs going for rock hard buds as the more surface area you have the more resin glands can develop on it little things make the difference as you know mate

Id say he captured it's spirit well with bluchi but improved on the cerebral aspect of the smoke it's a bit more potent too that way ime

Ok. Yea it depends if OP wants the classic bluecheese or something just as good which makes a difference. I just saw it as re-writing history rather than just coming out with something new. Idk anyone around me in the US in my area thats aware there are other blue cheeses and that they compare.

For example two breeders have tried to make a banana og x wedding cake. Whos is better now? It gets cluttered when trying to narrow down which one is better especially if it wasnt spabilized and just really a clone only. I think theres even a third breeder trying to make a banana cake.
One is banana candy krush the other banana cake, so at least they have two very distinct names for the same project. They probably did that on accident sense lots of times they try to keep releases/projects secretive.

I mean theyre not tho, they called it bluchi v2 or something but they didnt stabilize it either. I know cashing on other peoples reputation is a thing, might be why I never had the best blue dream but I know I had something close enough. Also every bud at the store with blueberry in the name is weak.
I read there are lots of people like me and can relate to the dominant terps in that heritage that cancels out the jittery high thc feeling.

It's his own line he made for his own reasons he is a small outfit he is on here occasionally too bud not so often tho he wasn't just trying to make just another blue cheese carbon copy there's time and effort went into it and far as I'm concerned the plants speak for themselves if you check out the UK growers thread you will see some folk happy with his work mate imo it's good smoke you would probably like it yourself

Like I said if op wants straight blue cheese check out the Barney's triple cheese it's just BC x back to the cheese it turns out alot closer to the old BC than most do

It depends what op wants, I dont want to hijack thread. I just feel like this is why you dont make the same project in breeding. I mean its a free world you can do what you want its just a rule of thumb I read and can see why. This a unique case as its a over a decade old strain but lets take road kill skunk for example, its not like todays skunk but depend who you ask people can say its better or worse.
Usually would hear from op about now so we know what to say next. Do they know enough or want clones or is it a project to commit to etc. My pheno hunt has changed strains many times so ya.

Id simply want the blue cheese I had a hand ful of times growing up was always exactly the same. Clearly its milos which wouldnt of sourced a clone off someone if it was such a hard pheno to find. Like the often 1 in over 1000 it can be.
The idea of stabilizing or clone only is to preserve that as finding a new match is real hard until its inbred a few generations. You get something close but not quite the exact same, somethings bound to be slightly different each time. I probably wouldnt like bluchi its not something that needed change more so a close copy, Id want the results in my face before growing it.
Their nose could be different, my idea of bluecheese smell could be different if you smelled the same stuff I had. Some people only smell general smells like pine, citrus where as I said peppercorn zest with fermented grape jelly. Some people can really get into the smells and tastes differently than another. I feel like Im a natural because my descriptions sound like the breeder/seed banks in terms of creativity.
