indoor or outdoor?

I keep hearing that sun grown has more terps than indoor is that true? the smell and the taste is literally all I care about especially the taste so if I can grow better terps outdoors why am I spending all this money growing indoors? what is your experience with growing and smoking indoor vs outdoor?

Outdoor at mercy to environment but indoors can control it so I dont get mold and bugs. Just feels like a cleaner product to me. People would bud wash to find dirt and debree etc. Can grow all year round. Outdoor starts to become somewhat hybrid with a green house and fans which use a chunk of juice.

Id love to do outdoor because space isnt a issue or costly but yea, as I mentioned.

I've grown clones of my indoor plants guerilla style outdoor . The indoor smelled and tasted better but the outdoor got me higher it seemed .

When I say guerilla style I mean very little human contact, maybe 4 times from planting to harvest . Backyard plants that you can care for everyday may be another story .

Another variable would be that my outdoor partner was a freak about harvesting when plants were "more than ready" .

both have pros and cons, if you don't control heat inside you may have issues, if you don't watch your plants good outside same things, it honestly depends on the grower, i think if you had equal experience you can do the same with both depending on the geo area

i much prefer the costs of outdoor vs indoor. i put my plants inground, and just fish emulsion and dr earth nutes. they just love the sunshine so much that it's much more fun to grow. yes, it comes with challenges, but the yield:cost outdoors far outweighs an indoor setup.

only grown outdoor personally- maybe someday after I lose a whole year to something I’ll reconsider, but cost is the driver.

Not sure that is true but it is definitely easier to control conditions inside. Have grown delicious bud both in and outside but sun grown plants are typically bulkier. The smoke is not all that different tbh. Given the same strain bud grown outside might be golf ball sized where indoor buds are like ping pong ball sized. Rock hard density can be achieved either way.
Problem with growing outdoors is you are subject to whatever conditions nature tosses at you. Have had more plants end up with bud rot outside than I ever had indoors. It matters when you start your grow outdoors depending upon where on Earth you are because you want the peak of veg to be during the solstice or longest hours of sunlight to get the best possible yield.
Terpenes might have more to do with proper nutrition provided that your lighting is in the proper spectrum. Sunlight changes slightly during the summer and into the fall; much like when you flip the veg/bloom switch on a cheapo blurple LED. Once bud is cured I bet you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. I’d be curious to see a side by side study with lab reports tbh….

Love the yield I get from my outdoor gals, but I prefer the control environment of the tent. One year outside, I lost half of my grow mold. Anything tent wise that goes bad is on me, but outdoor grows I can blame on the weather. I remember when pot shops were everywhere before legalization in Canada. I remember waiting to get my weed, as an older gentlemen was buying in front of me. He said he had to buy some Pink Kush from them because his wife didn’t like the taste of his outdoor grown Pink Kush.

If you got the right spot outdoors is better imo indoors tho nice enough is just a necessary evil its a plant after all it don't wanna be in a room or a tent it has to be adapted to handle these environments in the first place as there so alien to them

Yea my pheno always been dark, she got a eating disorder lol. The enviorment just brings it out. I learned about reducing root pressure overnight with cool temps and not letting temps get too high during lights on. Then 55rh becomes ok.

Maybe next run now I know that might have them less harsh lookin. She got a pretty fade on one leaf as I showed, thats really why I showed it.

I guess I didnt realize you could breed or hunt for something outdoors for your harsh climate. I just doubt theres real PM resistance. Or any for that matter. Id see people run hundreds of plants outside like oh this ones resistant because the one next to it got it and didnt spread. Man I watched that stuff spread its fast and wild.

Id need boxfans in greenhouses and skills to avoid budrot which ive found is really just from gutating. So watering. Idk its hard to have a indoor grow pumping out electricity when theres outdoor right on other side of walls could be much cheaper. I just like that I can count on harvest but outdoor would just be a long learning experience.

Consider the different climates which various original strains came from. The climate in the hindu kush mountain range is going to be drastically different than the climate in mexico or columbia, and hence each will thrive in different environments.
