once my indoor grow room is complete ill have 4 x 400 watt lamps going and the goal is 4 seed strains and some clones from my previous indoor grow

help me decide and pick the 4 strains out of these that are currently my favorites

my goal is potency and yield
im not going to hide the fact that this is going to be a commercial grow
my social security to survive these recession times and have money to keep breeding, buy new seeds, pay for power, invest in new gear etc

i cant guarantee that ill run the 4 with most votes but it will surely give me a clue on which to grow in the first run

ill take clones from all of them for later use.

also i would appreciate some info on why you should pick the strains of you choice
how is the strain regarding to yield, potency, flavor, which keepers etc

heres the seed strains on top of my list atm
currently in my possession or on its way

ak48 ( nirvana)
big bud x northern lights ( nirvana)
Bifrost aka Bubblegum ( Saga Seeds - told to be one of the best BG's ever)
chronic f2 ( Serious seeds f2)
double dutch (Magus genetics)
skunk#1 ( unknown so far)
white russian ( Serious seeds)
Trainwreck ibl (Crazy X Seeds)
Golden skush ( Gypsy Nirvana)
mazar i sharif, afghan hash plants ( Gypsy Nirvana)

multiple votes allowed but please pick only 4 favorites

Do Double Dutch man, I hear thats bomb. I believe that it is Warlock x Chronic. I am doing Magus Genetics Exile on my next one. Also, my friends had good luck with AK48. I personally wouldnt grow any nirvana strains (just cuz there are so many better strains to grow out there) but my friends who grow AK48 always have nice results an dthe nuggs always look top-shelf and pack a punch.. not really my cup of tea but still nice decent herb.

i thought i would post some pix of the different strains found on Google and info mostly from www.strainbase.dk

ak48 ( nirvana)

Since the mid 1990’s “AK” strains have been increasingly popular. Our AK-48 is one of the strongest early finishing strains available anywhere. AK-48 produces hard buds with an exceptional penetrating aroma. AK-48 is an indica/sativa hybrid yet it retains most of its sativa qualities in its high. AK-48 finishes in as early as 48 days if conditions are perfect. Winning SEVEN prizes!! in Cannabis competitions, including second prize for the Best Sativa in the 1999 High Times Cannabis Cup, prove AK-48 is a favorite to smoke as well as to grow.

big bud x northern lights ( nirvana)

Northern Lights x Big Bud was developed with both the grower and the smoker in mind. Big Bud has outrageous yields, but tends to be a bit weak for the heavy smoker. Crossing Big Bud with a very potent Northern lights has resulted in a more potent bud while losing only a small percentage of the yield. The smoke from Northern Light x Big Bud is rich and deep and the taste is slightly skunky.

Plant type: Best suitable for indoor growing.
Plant height: Medium- Indica/Sativa mix
Stoned or high?: Stoney yet high- Allround Buzz
THC level: Medium 8-15%
Flowering Weeks: 8
Yield (Sea of Green on one m2) : 550/600
Harvest Month: 9
Grow difficulty: Moderate

Bifrost aka Bubblegum ( Saga Seeds - told to be one of the best BG's ever)

In ancient nothern mythology Bifrost is the name of the luminous bridge, the rainbow, that leads from
Midgaard to Asgaard. Midgaard is the place where the human beings live,
and Asgaard is the habitat of the Gods.
This strain really gets you flying!

In 2001 we got some seeds from an experienced grower in Indiana, USA. I was told that this superb strain was the origin of the legendary Bubblegum. I isolated 3 phenos of which 2 resembles the strain known today. The third pheno was different; more sativa-dominated. These where the genes I focused on. Over the past 6 years we've selected and stabilized the plant. The primary goal has been to keep and develop its sweet aroma, mold resistance and potency. It produces huge buds covered by crystals and has a smell that brings you back to your childhood candy-store. We've bred some excellent in-and outdoor hybrids with this strain and we plan to have some new Bifrost-F1 hybrids ready later in 2008.

chronic f2 ( Serious seeds f2)

This medium height, not too dense plant is the perfect combination of good yield and excellent quality. Smokers that know and grow choose this plant for its combination of appearance and sweet smell. With its indica background Chronic can produce up to 600 g/m2 without losing that connoisseur feeling.

Grows a single huge central bud with few side branches. Do not top plants to encourage multiple big buds, as this strain does not respond well. Mild, sweet smell develops while flowering, take care to dry thoroughly after harvest (before packaging) to maintain this subtle fragrance.

o Type: sativa/indica hybrid
o Indoor clone grow time: 7 - 10 days
o Indoor flowering time: 56 - 63 days
o Indoor yield: 350 - 600 grams/m2
o Outside / Greenhouse harvest time: 15-31 October

double dutch (Magus genetics)

The mostly indica DOUBLE DUTCH is a cross of a Warlock male with a pre-2000 Chronic female. During the seedling & vegetative growth stages, DOUBLE DUTCH shows its indica pedigree with fat leaves, thick stems, and a bushy growth pattern. In the flowering stage DOUBLE DUTCH produces giant Sativa-like buds. All tips that receive copious amounts of light will form huge buds similar to elongated popcorn balls. DOUBLE DUTCH Buds must be staked due to their heavy weight. Performs well in bio, coco and hydro growth mediums. The DOUBLE DUTCH aroma is a pleasant fruity wildflower scent. The buzz is complex and strong. The high is both cerebral and heavy. Expect the buzz to last 2-4 hours depending on the smoker's tolerance level.

skunk#1 ( unknown origin so far)

This is the strain that changed cannabis cultivation. The original Indica-Sativa hybrid that has astonished weed lovers for more than a quarter-century is now available as a feminised variety!
The potency of this branch of the cannabis family tree is so notorious that ‘skunk’ is often used as a term for any powerful ganja. Breeders regard Skunk #1 as the benchmark of uniform, reliable performance and her rock-solid genotype has influenced a hundred modern hybrids. Skunk #1’s energetic performance and bountiful yields demonstrate the true meaning of hybrid vigour. Growth and flowering are mostly-Indica in appearance, though Skunk plants gain more height than pure Indicas when blooming. The extra-dark green of this strain’s foliage comes from her Afghan ancestors.
Flowering is very fast and Skunk #1 produces robust stems and branches to support her superior yields. Short internode gaps explode into dense, rounded bud-clusters which merge into huge, heavy colas by harvest time.
Skunk #1’s Sativa genes have a subtle effect on flower structure plus a wonderful influence on her effect - a stunningly potent combination of stone and high!

Flowering: 50 - 55 days
Yield: 100 g
Height: 110 - 130 cm
Indica / Sativa

white russian ( Serious seeds)

These seeds produce plants that are fantastic in both appearance and effect. The most typically indica strain, White Russian is a stable cross of AK-47 and White Widow (a prize winning indica clone). Medium height, consistent plants and dense, very resinous flower tops (crystals appear after about 5 weeks of flowering).

With such a strong indica background, the plants smell quite strong during both their growth and flowering period. In an independent seed comparison in which over 150 different seedstrains were grown out in a greenhouse, the White Russian came out as the strongest plant (22% THC, likely to be the strongest plant known at present!!).

o Type: mostly indica
o Indoor clone grow time: 5 - 10 days
o Indoor flowering time: 56 - 63 days
o Indoor yield: 350 - 500 grams/m2
o Outside / Greenhouse harvest time: 15-31 October
Trainwreck ibl (Crazy X Seeds)

This picture was taken by a former icmag member - Ganja pasjer/British Hempire

Heres what woodhorse/medusa say about the TW IBL...

Woodhorse Trainwreck, was Steve Tuck's (HillBilly Dreams Seeds) version of Trainwreck, that we have worked for years now through my Woodhorse breeders.
He had take the Arcata cut (female) and crossed it with pure Afghani (the Indica side of Trainwreck) and then backcrossed it with the Train again.
We have worked it to the point of stability, and it is a true breeding, highly potent and sweet representation of what we are seeking to provide.
The effect's of this strain are very similar to the orginal, and indeed it has it's own unique and positive characteristics as a result of the work we have done with it.

Golden skush ( Gypsy Nirvana)

Skunk meets Hindu Kush. These two well established strains have come together to produce skush. A great yield combing the ease, yield and quality of the skunk with the best of the Hindu Kush. A classic cross, totally superb!

mazar i sharif, Landrace Afghan hash plants ( Gypsy Nirvana)
note these pix is from Afghanistan hash fields and description from Real Seed Company as the gypsy version is brand new and currently handed out as freebies

Genetics: Traditional North Afghan charas cultivar
Type: Traditional landrace/pure-bred
Variety: Indica Giant
Height: 3-4 meters in natural outdoor environment in Mazar-i-Sharif.
Yield: 1.5 to 2 kg of dried flowers in natural outdoor environment
Aroma: pungent, intense terpene aroma, classic Afghan, with some sweetness
Harvest: early December to early January
Characteristics: Unusually large indica strain with classic wide leaved characteristics.

Grown around the desert towns of Balkh, Mazar-i-Sharif and Sheberghan in the far north of Afghanistan, close to the modern borders of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. This Mazar-i-Sharif strain produces the legendary hashish known as "Shirak-i-Mazar" and "Milk of Mazar". The people of these regions are a patchwork of Turkic, Tajik, Afghan and Pashtun tribes, and the history of Mazar-i-Sharif strains is likely to be equally complex. In fertile and well-irrigated soils these vigorous giants are capable of reaching 4 metres in height or more, and will produce a similarly immense yield of intensely resinous flowers. Traditionally harvested in the first half of December with the onset of the brutal Central Asian winter, Mazar-i-Sharif plants will enjoy cold conditions, including snow, and will turn a deep blood red in low temperatures. Growers favour leaving harvest as late as possible, sometimes into early January. Sieved "Milk of Mazar" garda is very resinous and so can be hand-pressed to make charas; it has a distinctively pungent, sweet aroma and a dreamily mellow high. Over-indulgence produces a mind-warping, immobilising and narcotic effect.

found this really nice Double Dutch picture
its from a high yielding pheno with almost no leaves
a trimmers delight

Well if your not adding the strains that make you go hmmm then your wasting your time, Some of the ones you have are good like skunk #1 and ak48 but look outside the picture and look at what else is out there. For instance look these strains.

ELITE- CHEMDAWG D 08

It made for a perfect match & a large portion of the offspring will be super close to growing the Chemdawg clone. Sativa indica mix with a flowering time of 9.5-10.5 weeks. Average yields of the best chem funk, the potency is Unreal!

OG OGUANA KUSH
The
OG Oguana Kush has a genetic make-up of Motarebels OG Kush x Herijuana AKA Oguana Kush x Sour OG Kush and Mota’s Oguana Kush was a big hit! Super strong Med pot, he used the OG Kush clone & crossed to the lab tested 24% THC Herijuana male. This strain features super funky dank buds, the Sour OG Kush added to yield & flavor of this 50% OG Kush/25% Sour Diesel/25% Herijuana Hybrid.

ELITE G-13

LAVENDER
Lavender brings together a world of weed. Strains with histories from Afghanistan, Hawaii, Korea, the U.S, and Europe are all melded together in this 3-way cross. The color is intense, with the leaves tips turning nearly to black, and extra dense buds give off a sensually spicy smell akin to Afghani hash. 2005 Cannabis Cup Winner.

GOD BUD
A BC Bud Depot Cannabis Cup Winner for world's best indica, the BC God Bud packs some of the most powerful aroma and flavor findable on planet earth. A popular plant among professional cash croppers, these very dense and heavy crystal coated buds, flavour and accompanying high, make for outer-body experiences. A BC Bud Depot multiple cannabis cup award winner.

Those are just the tip of the iceberg, i could go on, so dont be close minded, if your going to grow, grow right.

Your more than welcome to send me these strains as testers for free, but otherwise the first mentioned strains and crosses are my current lineup.

i would still call it a very strong line up, from those you mention i think i would only go with Skunk#1 for the first run
Ak48 is a good one but i think it will be later as theres other i think is better

Trainwreck is among the strongest herb available.
White russian is also in the strongest league
Bifrost is very tasty, potent and a good yielder

chronic and double dutch are massive yielders with good potency also

well, theres lots top notch genetics to choose from already so ill just be wasting my time growing right with the 10 genetics mentioned first
but if you have any knowledge or opinions of any of them, besides ak48 and skunk#1, your more than welcome to contribute with it

I am just saying when it comes down to the OG KUSH, nothing beats it, from my personal experience. I am currently growing Hawaiian purple train wreck. That should be interesting. I am really not that fond of the others you selected cuz of the genetics, but thats just my opinion. Good luck.

maybe look at c 99 , it is known as the growers "holy grail". seeds are hard to come by, but that just says something dosent it:)

The C99 has been hailed as the Holy Grail by Bros Grimm and is an extremely productive, potent plant and very stable. Growers often note pre flowers between the age of 4 and 6 weeks. Node 6 is commonly where they start, The scent is very sweet and fruity. It won't "fool" anyone who's familiar with MJ, but the average person might not recognize the scent as pot. They start to smell after 3 weeks of 12/12 and they're harvested 4 weeks later, so the SHORT flowering cycle helps a bit by lessening the amount of time your garden "stinks". The plants that show first are usually males. Yields are highly dependant on the methods used. Pruning style and number of plants/area make a BIG difference. Professional growers are often yielding around 2lbs/kW. The scent given off by Cinderella is NOT the typical "pot stench"...not at all skunky -she's sweet and fruity. Someone passing by the flowering room might not recognize the scent as pot and mistake it for tropical scent.
When you rub the resin you can definitely smell it. C-99 is more psychedelic be sure to smoke a little wait a few minutes, then think about whether or not you need any more...it's easy to over-indulge and become paranoidd. Specifications: ~ Flower: 6-7 weeks~ Flower: 6-7 weeks

i see your point but when running a strain i always keeps clones
much easier and less time consuming to select a keeper or 2 from 4 strains than from 10
and if i ran only half the seeds from 10 strains i would still have seeds left that could contain a keeper better than the one from the first 5 seeds in each strain
since i only have lights for around 40 plants its much easier and less time consuming to run all the seeds from 4 strains instead
finding the best keeper and concentrating on getting the best harvest and getting the best keepers from the 4

then later i would run 4 new strains and find the keeper from each of them

once i have all the keepers i want ill select like 2 or 3 strains for each run
rest will be kept for future use, crosses etc

i already have clones from my previous run ( arjans haze#1, black domina, c99, deep chunk, jock horror, nepalese jam and others) so getting keepers from 4 new strains would be max unless i should use a very large area just for motherplants

Heres an update and some smaller changes
yesterday i had a letter with Trainwreck and Chronic f2 inside but unfortunately they had been handled very rough by some brain dead mail worker

theres new Trainwreck on the way but no more chronics f2

UK Cheese x chronic and Biddy early x chronic will be replacing the chronic f2 instead.
they should arrive soon and hopefully be put into soil at around new years eve.
Bifrost and skunk#1 will hopefully arrive at the same time, and hopefully also the White Russian from Seedbay together with the last pack of Mazar I Sharif

so in the beginning of next year ill see what have arrived and start germination from the stock

please keep on voting and share your experiences with the strains and crosses listed
